Man, what a day! I swear, being a glazier in Hoensbroek is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m thinkin’, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Ha! Spoiler alert: it was anything but. First stop, I’m on the way to the job on de Kuilen. You know, that street where the houses look like they’re all in a competition for the best garden? Yeah, that one. I’m cruisin’ down the road, and bam! Traffic jam. Like, seriously? It’s 8 AM! I’m sittin’ there, fuming, thinkin’ about how I could be breakin’ glass instead of sittin’ in my van like a lemon. Finally, I get to the site. It’s a small house, but the lady, oh man, she’s a piece of work. She’s all like, “I need this done yesterday!” Lady, chill! I’m not a magician! So, I start measuring the windows, and guess what? I realize I forgot my favorite tool. The one I call “The Glass Whisperer.” Ugh! I could’ve screamed. But then, I’m like, “Whatever, I’ll make it work.” So, I’m cutting glass, and it’s going smooth. I’m feelin’ like a rockstar. Then, outta nowhere, I drop a piece. It shatters everywhere! Glass confetti, yay! I’m on my hands and knees, picking up shards, and I’m thinkin’, “This is why I can’t have nice things.” Then, I hear this loud noise. I look up, and it’s a bunch of kids on bikes, racing down the street. They’re screamin’ and laughin’, and I can’t help but smile. Reminds me of when I was a kid, just cruisin’ around Hoensbroek, not a care in the world. But then, one of ‘em crashes into a parked car. Oof! The sound of metal on metal. I’m like, “Dude, you okay?” He’s fine, just a bit shaken. After that, I finally finish the job. The lady’s happy, and I’m thinkin’, “Alright, maybe today ain’t so bad.” But then, I step outside, and it starts pouring. Like, seriously? I’m soaked in seconds. I’m standing there, drenched, and I can’t help but laugh. Only in Hoensbroek, right? So, I’m walking back to my van, and I pass by the old church on de Kerkstraat. It’s beautiful, man. I always stop to admire it. But today, it’s like the universe is playin’ tricks on me. I slip on a wet cobblestone and almost faceplant. I’m like, “Not today, Satan!” Finally, I get back to my van, and I’m ready to call it a day. But then, I see my buddy, Jan, at the café on de Molenstraat. He’s waving me over, and I can’t resist. We grab a beer, and I’m tellin’ him about my crazy day. He’s laughin’ so hard, he almost spills his drink. As the sun sets over Hoensbroek, I’m sittin’ there, thinkin’ about how wild life can be. One minute you’re cuttin’ glass, the next you’re dodging kids on bikes and slippin’ on cobblestones. But hey, that’s what makes it all worth it, right? So, yeah, that was my day. Just another rollercoaster in Hoensbroek. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
