Man, what a day in Hoge-Mors! Seriously, I can’t even. Woke up late, as usual. My alarm? Yeah, it decided to take a day off. So, I’m scrambling, running around my tiny apartment on Morsweg, tripping over my own feet. Classic me, right? First stop? The café on Hoofdstraat. Gotta get my caffeine fix. I’m standing in line, and this dude in front of me is taking forever. Like, bro, it’s just coffee! I’m about to lose it. Finally, I get my double espresso, and it’s like heaven in a cup. But then, I spill it all over my new kicks. Ugh! Just my luck. So, I’m walking down the street, trying to shake off the coffee disaster. The sun’s out, and it’s actually nice. I pass by the park on Morssingel. Kids are playing, and there’s this old guy feeding ducks. I mean, who even does that anymore? But it’s kinda sweet, ya know? Makes me smile. Then, I get a call from my buddy, Joris. He’s like, “Yo, you gotta come to the studio!” I’m thinking, “Dude, I just spilled coffee!” But whatever, I’m in. I hop on my bike and zoom down to the studio on Zandstraat. When I get there, the vibe is wild. Everyone’s buzzing. We’re working on this track, and it’s got potential. But then, outta nowhere, the power goes out. Like, seriously? In the middle of a session? We’re all just sitting there, staring at each other. I’m fuming. But then, we decide to make the best of it. We grab some acoustic guitars and start jamming. It’s actually kinda fun. We’re laughing, making jokes, and the whole thing turns into a mini concert. I’m feeling it. After a few hours, the power comes back. We’re all hyped, and we dive back into the track. It’s sounding epic. I’m getting all emotional, thinking about how music can bring people together. Cheesy, I know, but whatever. Later, I head out to grab some food. I hit up this little place on Morsweg. Best fries in town, no joke. I order a portion, and the guy behind the counter is super chill. We start chatting about the local music scene. He tells me about this open mic night at a bar on Morssingel. I’m like, “I’m so there!” So, I finish my fries, and I’m feeling good. I bike over to the bar, and it’s packed. I’m nervous, but I grab a drink and just go for it. I get up on stage, and the crowd is vibing. I play a couple of songs, and they’re loving it. I’m on cloud nine. But then, this guy in the back starts heckling me. Like, really? I’m trying to pour my heart out here! I almost lose my cool, but I just laugh it off. “Hey man, if you think you can do better, come up here!” The crowd goes wild. After my set, people are coming up to me, giving compliments. I’m feeling like a rockstar. I even meet some cool folks who want to collaborate. Who knew Hoge-Mors had such talent? Finally, I bike home, and I’m just buzzing. It’s been a rollercoaster of a day. From coffee spills to jamming in the dark, to rocking the mic. Hoge-Mors, you’ve got my heart. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
