Man, what a day! Seriously, Leersum is wild. I woke up thinking it’d be chill, just another day studying the whole “attractiveness of professions” thing. But nah, not in this town. First off, I hit up the local bakery on Kerkstraat. Best croissants ever! I mean, I’m no food critic, but these were like little clouds of buttery heaven. I grabbed one, and boom! I’m already happy. But then, I spill coffee all over my shirt. Classic me, right? Like, who needs a clean shirt anyway? So, I’m walking down the street, feeling all good, when I bump into this dude. He’s like, “Hey, you dropped something!” I’m thinking, “What now?” Turns out, it’s just my dignity. LOL. But seriously, Leersum’s streets are so cozy. I love the vibe. You got the old houses, the trees lining the roads, and the people just chillin’. Then I head over to the park, you know, the one by the Leersumse Veld. It’s a nice spot. I sit down, trying to gather my thoughts. But then, outta nowhere, this kid runs by with a kite. A freakin’ kite! I’m like, “Dude, it’s not even windy!” But he’s having the time of his life. Makes me think, why can’t we all just fly kites? Anyway, I’m sitting there, and I start thinking about my research. Like, what makes a job attractive? Is it the money? The freedom? Or just the chance to wear sweatpants all day? I mean, who wouldn’t want that? But then, I get distracted by this couple arguing nearby. They’re going at it, and I’m just sitting there, eavesdropping like it’s a Netflix show. Suddenly, the guy storms off, and the girl starts crying. Ugh, it’s a whole drama. I feel bad, but also kinda entertained. Leersum’s got its own soap opera going on! After that, I decide to hit up the local market on the Markt. It’s buzzing! Fresh veggies, flowers, and all that good stuff. I grab some strawberries, and they’re so sweet! But then, I see this old lady trying to haggle. She’s like, “I’ll give you two euros for that!” The vendor’s just laughing. I mean, come on, lady, it’s not a garage sale! I finally make my way to the library on de Linde. I’m thinking, “Time to get serious.” But the librarian is this super chill dude. He’s like, “You need help?” I’m like, “Nah, just browsing.” But then he starts telling me about all these cool books on psychology. I’m like, “Dude, I’m just here for the Wi-Fi.” By now, I’m exhausted. I head back home, and I’m just reflecting on the day. Leersum is small but packed with life. I mean, who knew a day could be so full of ups and downs? I’m angry, happy, surprised, and just a bit confused. As I crash on my couch, I think about how this town is a mix of everything. The streets, the people, the drama—it’s all part of the charm. And honestly, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. So yeah, that was my day in Leersum. Just another wild ride in this little gem of a town. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
