Man, what a day! I woke up in Made, and lemme tell ya, it was a rollercoaster. First off, I’m a combine harvester, right? Not your usual 9-to-5 gig. But today? Today was wild. So, I roll outta bed, grab my coffee, and head out. The sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m thinkin’, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Ha! Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. I hit the streets, and I’m cruisin’ down the Molenstraat. You know, the one with all the cute cafes? Yeah, that one. I’m just vibin’, when suddenly, BAM! A pigeon poops on my shoulder. Like, seriously? Who does that? I’m like, “Thanks, nature!” Anyway, I shake it off and keep goin’. I swing by the Markt, where they got that weekly market. Fresh veggies, flowers, and all that jazz. I’m eyeing some rad tulips when I bump into my buddy, Jan. He’s all like, “Dude, you gotta try the stroopwafels here!” I’m like, “Bro, I’m tryin’ to be healthy!” But then he hands me one, and I’m like, “Okay, fine, just one.” So, I’m munchin’ on this gooey goodness, and outta nowhere, this kid runs by, trippin’ over his own feet. He falls right into a pile of potatoes! I can’t help but laugh. The kid’s covered in dirt, and his mom’s just standing there, hands on her hips, like, “Really?” Classic Made moment, right? After that, I decide to hit the road. I’m driving down the Heuvelstraat, and I see this old lady trying to cross. I stop, of course, ‘cause I’m not a monster. But then, she takes her sweet time! I’m sittin’ there, engine running, thinkin’, “C’mon, lady, I got places to be!” Finally, she gives me a smile and waves. I’m like, “Okay, you win this round.” Then, I get to the edge of town, and it’s like a whole different world. The fields are all golden, and I’m feelin’ like a king in my combine. But then, outta nowhere, a freakin’ storm rolls in. I’m talkin’ dark clouds, thunder, the whole shebang. I’m like, “Seriously? I just wanna harvest!” So, I’m racing against the weather, and I’m sweating bullets. I’m zooming through the fields, and it’s like a scene from a movie. I’m dodging raindrops, and I swear, I can hear the corn whispering, “Hurry up!” Just when I think I’m gonna make it, the skies open up. Rain’s pouring, and I’m soaked. I’m sittin’ in my combine, drenched, and I can’t help but laugh. Like, what else could go wrong? But then, I see a rainbow. Yup, a freakin’ rainbow! I’m like, “Okay, universe, you got me.” Finally, I wrap up for the day, and I’m driving back through Made. The streets are glistening, and I’m feelin’ all kinds of grateful. I pass by the church on the Kerkstraat, and it hits me—this place is home. So, yeah, today was a whirlwind. From pigeon poop to rainbows, Made’s got it all. I’m exhausted but happy. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
