Man, what a day! Seriously, I can’t even. So, I’m a dental tech, right? Just another day in Merenwijk, and boy, did it throw me some curveballs. First off, I roll outta bed late. Like, super late. My alarm? Totally ignored. I’m sprinting down the street, past the little park on de Korte Dijk. You know, the one with the weird sculptures? Yeah, those things freak me out. Anyway, I’m dodging cyclists like I’m in some kinda video game. I finally get to the lab on de Korte Dijk, and it’s chaos. My boss, Jan, is already losing it. He’s like, “Where’s the new mold?!” I’m like, “Dude, chill. I just got here!” But he’s not having it. Turns out, the mold I made yesterday? Total disaster. I mean, it looked like a melted ice cream cone. So, I’m stuck redoing it. While I’m grinding away, I hear this loud crash outside. I peek out the window, and there’s this guy on a bike who just wiped out. I mean, he went flying! I can’t help but laugh. But then, I see he’s hurt. Ugh, guilt trip! I run out to help. Turns out, he’s fine, just a bit bruised. He even jokes about it. “Guess I need a dentist now!” Classic. After that, I’m back to work, and I’m finally getting into the groove. I’m mixing some resin, and it’s like, perfect. I’m feeling like a rockstar. Then, my phone buzzes. It’s my buddy, Sam. He’s like, “Dude, you gotta come to the market on de Korte Dijk after work!” I’m like, “Yeah, sure, if I survive this day.” So, I’m grinding away, and then, bam! Power goes out. Just my luck, right? I’m standing there in the dark, thinking, “Great, now I’m gonna be here all night.” But then, the lights flicker back on. Phew! I finish the mold, and it’s actually decent this time. Finally, I clock out and head to the market. It’s buzzing! I grab some stroopwafels from this cute little stand. Best decision ever. I’m munching away, and I see Sam. He’s got this wild look on his face. “You won’t believe what happened!” he says. Apparently, he saw a cat chase a pigeon right into a fountain. I mean, come on! Only in Merenwijk, right? We’re laughing, and then I spot this street performer on de Korte Dijk. He’s playing the accordion, and it’s surprisingly good. I’m thinking, “Man, I should’ve learned an instrument instead of teeth.” As the sun sets, the sky turns this crazy orange. I’m just standing there, soaking it all in. Merenwijk is wild, man. It’s got its quirks, but it’s home. But then, I get a text from Jan. “Need you to come in early tomorrow.” Ugh, seriously? Just when I thought I could relax. But whatever, I’ll deal with it. So, I head home, exhausted but happy. Merenwijk, you crazy little place, you’ve got my heart. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings.
