Man, what a day! Seriously, I can’t even. So, I wake up in Middelburg, right? The sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I’m a financial analyst, but today felt more like a rollercoaster. I grab my coffee from that cute little café on Langeviele. You know the one? The barista always messes up my name. It’s like, dude, it’s not that hard! Anyway, I’m sipping my coffee, feeling all fancy, when I get a call. My boss is like, “We need those reports ASAP!” Ugh, classic. So, I rush over to the office on Zusterstraat. I’m dodging tourists like I’m in some kind of video game. Seriously, why are there so many people? It’s like they’ve never seen a canal before. I mean, come on, it’s Middelburg! We’ve got canals, we’ve got history, and we’ve got me, the financial wizard. I finally get to the office, and guess what? The printer’s jammed. Of course it is! I’m wrestling with that thing like it’s a wild animal. Paper everywhere! I’m sweating, and I’m like, “This is NOT how I wanted my day to go.” Then, I finally get the reports printed. I’m feeling like a champ, right? But then I step outside, and it’s pouring rain. Like, seriously? I just got my hair done! I’m sprinting down the street, trying to avoid puddles, but it’s like they’re out to get me. I slip on the cobblestones near the Abbey Tower. Classic Middelburg moment. So, I’m soaked, but I gotta meet a client at the restaurant on Markt. I’m thinking, “Okay, maybe this will turn my day around.” I get there, and the place is packed. I’m standing there, dripping wet, looking like a drowned rat. My client walks in, and I can see the judgment in their eyes. Great. Just great. We sit down, and I’m trying to keep it professional, but I can’t stop thinking about how I look. I mean, who wants to talk finances with a soggy mess? But then, outta nowhere, my client starts cracking jokes. Like, what? I’m not ready for this! But it lightens the mood, and we end up having a good laugh. I’m like, “Okay, maybe today isn’t a total disaster.” After the meeting, I stroll through the city. I pass by the beautiful Stadhuis and think, “Man, this place is gorgeous.” The architecture is insane! I love how Middelburg has that mix of old and new. But then I remember I still have work to do. Ugh, adulting is hard. I head back to the office, and I’m feeling a bit better. I sit down, and just as I’m about to dive into my work, my phone buzzes. It’s my buddy, asking if I wanna hit up a bar later. I’m like, “Heck yes!” I need a drink after this chaos. So, I finish up my work, and I’m outta there. We hit up that bar on Damplein. It’s got this chill vibe, and I finally relax. I order a beer, and it’s like the best thing ever. I’m laughing with my friends, and I forget all about the craziness of the day. But then, I get a text from my boss. “Need those reports by tomorrow.” I’m like, “Are you kidding me?” But whatever, I’ll deal with that later. For now, I’m just enjoying Middelburg, the canals, the laughter, and the fact that I survived the day. So yeah, that was my day. Full of ups and downs, but hey, that’s life, right? Middelburg, you crazy city, you never fail to surprise me!
