Man, what a day! I woke up in Monster, and let me tell ya, it was a rollercoaster. First off, I spilled coffee all over my favorite shirt. Like, seriously? Who needs a clean shirt anyway, right? So, I’m rushing outta my apartment on de Monsterlaan, trying to make it to the office. The streets are buzzing, as usual. I mean, it’s Monster, not exactly a sleepy town. I pass by the old church on de Kerkstraat. It’s beautiful, but I’m too frazzled to appreciate it. I get to the office, and guess what? My boss is in a mood. Like, a serious mood. He’s pacing around like a lion in a cage. I’m thinking, “Dude, chill. It’s just Monday.” But no, he’s all about those quarterly reports. Ugh. Then, I get a call from a client. They’re freaking out about some data I sent. I’m like, “Chill, it’s just numbers.” But they’re not having it. I mean, come on! It’s Monster, not the end of the world! After that, I decide to take a break. I stroll down de Havenstraat, and wow, the view of the harbor is stunning. I can’t help but smile. The boats are bobbing, the sun is shining. For a sec, I forget about work. But then, I remember I left my lunch on my desk. Great. Just great. I grab a quick bite at this little café on de Hoofdstraat. The sandwich is decent, but the service? Don’t even get me started. The waiter spills water all over my lap. I’m soaked! I’m like, “Is this a café or a water park?” Finally, I head back to the office, and my computer crashes. Just my luck, right? I’m sitting there, staring at the screen like it owes me money. I’m ready to throw it out the window. But then, I remember I need it for my job. So, I just breathe. Deep breaths. Later, I’m walking home, and I pass by the park on de Parklaan. Kids are playing, people are laughing. It’s a nice vibe. I sit on a bench for a minute, just soaking it all in. I think, “Maybe today wasn’t so bad after all.” But then, I see a pigeon. And this pigeon decides to take a dump right next to me. I’m like, “Really? You couldn’t aim better?” I laugh it off, though. It’s just one of those days, ya know? As I finally get home, I crash on the couch. I’m exhausted. But I can’t help but think about Monster. It’s chaotic, it’s loud, but it’s home. And even on the craziest days, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. So, here’s to Monster. The city that keeps me on my toes. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
