Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a Banderillero in Raamsdonksveer is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. First off, I hit up the local café on De Hoef. Best coffee in town, no cap. I order my usual, a double espresso, and the barista, bless her heart, spills it all over the counter. I’m like, “Great start, right?” But she laughs it off, and I can’t help but chuckle too. Gotta love the vibe here. Then, I head over to the market on Raamsdonksveer’s main street. It’s buzzing! People everywhere, vendors shouting about fresh veggies and flowers. I’m just trying to navigate through the crowd when I spot this old dude selling the biggest strawberries I’ve ever seen. I mean, these things were practically the size of my fist! I buy a couple, thinking, “These better be worth it.” Spoiler: they were. Juicy as heck! But then, bam! Outta nowhere, a kid on a bike zooms past me and knocks my strawberries right outta my hands. I’m standing there, mouth agape, like, “Did that just happen?” The kid just laughs and pedals away. I’m fuming! Like, come on, man! I’m just tryna enjoy my day! So, I decide to cool off and stroll down the beautiful Veerseweg. It’s got these cute little houses, flowers everywhere, and the canal’s glistening in the sun. I’m feeling better, ya know? Just soaking it all in. But then, I hear this loud honking. I turn around, and it’s a bunch of geese crossing the road like they own the place. I’m like, “Seriously? Geese now?” I swear they were giving me the side-eye. After that, I hit up the local bullfighting arena. It’s a small place, but the energy is electric. I’m pumped! The crowd’s hyped, and I’m ready to do my thing. But then, the matador trips. Like, full-on faceplant. I’m dying laughing, but also worried. Is he okay? Turns out, he’s fine, just a bit embarrassed. But man, the crowd went wild! Later, I’m backstage, and I overhear some guys talking about the best spots in Raamsdonksveer. They mention the old windmill by the canal. I’ve lived here forever, and I’ve never been! So, I’m like, “Let’s check it out after the show.” The show goes off without a hitch. I’m feeling like a rockstar, and the crowd’s loving it. But then, I step outside, and it’s pouring rain. I’m soaked in seconds! I’m laughing, though, because this day has been a wild ride. Finally, I make my way to that windmill. It’s stunning! The way it stands tall against the dark sky, it’s like something outta a movie. I’m standing there, drenched, but I don’t care. I’m just taking it all in. Raamsdonksveer, you crazy little town, you’ve got my heart. So yeah, that was my day. Full of ups and downs, laughter and a bit of rage. But that’s life, right? Just gotta roll with it. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
