Man, what a day! I swear, Reuver is wild. I woke up, sun blaring through my window on De Linde. Thought it was gonna be chill. Nope! Not even close. First off, I had to get my horse, Thunder. Yeah, I named him that. He’s a beast! But this morning? He was acting like a diva. I mean, come on, dude! We’re not at the Oscars. Just let me saddle you up! So, I’m running late, right? I sprint down the Hoofdstraat, dodging cyclists like I’m in some kinda video game. Seriously, these folks ride like they’re in the Tour de France. I almost got taken out by a lady on a pink bike. Like, chill, lady! Finally, I get to the stables. Thunder’s still being a pain. I’m sweating bullets. I’m like, “C’mon, man! We got a race to win!” But he’s just munching hay like it’s a buffet. I’m losing my mind. Then, outta nowhere, my buddy Joris shows up. He’s got this huge grin. I’m like, “What’s up, dude?” He tells me he just won a bet on the last race. I’m happy for him, but also like, “Why can’t I catch a break?” We head to the track on the edge of Reuver. It’s a nice spot, man. The grass is green, the crowd’s buzzing. I can feel the energy. But then, I see my rival, Marco. Ugh, that guy. He’s strutting around like he owns the place. I’m like, “Dude, you’re not even that good!” Race time rolls around. I’m pumped, but also nervous. Thunder finally decides to cooperate. Thank goodness! We line up, and I’m just trying to focus. The announcer’s voice booms over the speakers. “And they’re off!” We’re flying down the track. I’m yelling, “Let’s go, Thunder!” The crowd’s going wild. I can see the finish line. I’m feeling it! But then, Marco pulls ahead. I’m like, “No way!” I push Thunder harder. We’re neck and neck. My heart’s racing. I can’t believe it! And then, outta nowhere, Thunder finds this extra gear. We zoom past Marco. I’m screaming like a lunatic. We cross the finish line, and I’m in shock. We did it! I’m jumping off Thunder, hugging him like he just saved my life. The crowd’s cheering, and I’m just soaking it all in. But then, I see Marco. He’s fuming. I can’t help but laugh. I mean, dude, you can’t win ‘em all! After the race, I’m riding high. Joris and I hit up a café on the Markt. I’m chowing down on some bitterballen. Best snack ever! We’re laughing, reliving the race. I’m still buzzing. But then, I get a text. My mom’s in town. She wants to meet up. I’m like, “Oh no, not now!” I love her, but she’s a handful. I rush over to the café on De Linde. She’s already there, chatting up the barista. I’m like, “Mom, chill!” But she’s just so excited. I can’t help but smile. We grab some ice cream at the local shop. I’m trying to enjoy it, but she’s asking about my love life. I’m like, “Mom, I just won a race!” But she’s relentless. Classic mom move. As the sun sets over Reuver, I’m reflecting on the day. It was crazy, emotional, and full of surprises. I love this town. The streets, the people, the vibe. It’s home. So yeah, that was my day. Just another wild ride in Reuver. Can’t wait for tomorrow!
