Man, what a day! Seriously, Rheden, you’ve got me all twisted up. I woke up this morning, sun shining through my window like it was trying to blind me. I rolled outta bed, still half-asleep, and thought, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I hit the streets of Rheden, right? I’m walking down the Hoofdstraat, and I’m just vibin’. The smell of fresh bread from the bakery hits me, and I’m like, “Yesss, carbs!” But then, BAM! A bike zooms past me, almost takes me out. Like, dude, slow down! This ain’t the Tour de France! So, I grab a croissant, and I’m feeling good. I sit on a bench near the park, just soaking in the vibes. Rheden’s got this chill park, you know? It’s called the “Rhedense Bos.” Trees everywhere, birds chirping, and I’m thinking, “Life is good.” But then, outta nowhere, a kid starts screaming. Like, full-on horror movie scream. Turns out, he just saw a squirrel. A SQUIRREL! I mean, come on, kid. Get a grip! After that, I decide to stroll over to the Rheden train station. I’m thinking, “Maybe I’ll hop on a train to Arnhem or something.” But nah, the train’s late. Classic. I’m standing there, checking my phone, and I see a notification. My buddy’s in town! He’s like, “Let’s meet up!” I’m pumped, right? But then I realize, I’m still in my sweats. Ugh. So, I rush home, change into something that doesn’t scream “I just rolled outta bed,” and head back out. I’m walking down the Stationsweg, and I see this cute café. It’s called “De Koffiehoek.” I’m like, “Perfect, I need caffeine!” I grab a latte, and it’s like liquid happiness. Seriously, I could swim in that stuff. While I’m sipping my drink, I see my buddy, Tom. He’s waving like a maniac. I wave back, spill some coffee on my shirt. Great. Just great. But whatever, we’re laughing about it. We start talking about life, dreams, and all that deep stuff. Then, outta nowhere, he says he’s moving to Amsterdam. WHAT?! I’m like, “Dude, you can’t leave me here in Rheden!” We finish our drinks, and I’m feeling all kinds of emotions. Happy, sad, confused. I mean, Rheden’s a small town, and losing a friend feels like losing a piece of home. But then, we decide to hit up the local market. It’s on the Markt, and it’s buzzing! Fresh veggies, flowers, and all that good stuff. I’m trying to distract myself from the whole moving thing. I see this old lady selling flowers. She’s got the biggest smile, and I can’t help but smile back. I buy a bunch of tulips, because why not? They’re like, the unofficial flower of the Netherlands, right? I’m feeling a bit better, but then I see a guy trip over his own feet. He falls right into a pile of cabbages. I can’t help but laugh. Like, dude, how clumsy can you be? As the day goes on, I’m just wandering around Rheden, taking it all in. I walk past the beautiful church on the Kerkweg, and it hits me how much I love this place. The people, the vibe, the little quirks. It’s home, you know? Even with all the craziness. But then, I get a text from Tom. He’s like, “Let’s grab dinner at that new place, ‘De Eetkamer.’” I’m in! We head over, and the food is bomb. I mean, I’m talking about the best fries I’ve ever had. We’re laughing, reminiscing, and I’m feeling grateful. By the end of the night, I’m exhausted but happy. Rheden, you’ve thrown me through the wringer today, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I head home, thinking about all the ups and downs. Life’s a wild ride, and I’m just here for the adventure. So yeah, Rheden, you’ve got my heart. Even with the bike near-misses and squirrel screams. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
