Man, what a day! Seriously, Schiebroek, you’ve outdone yourself. I woke up thinking it’d be just another chill day, ya know? But nah, the universe had other plans. So, I’m rollin’ outta bed, and my phone’s blowin’ up. My buddy Joris texts me, “Yo, meet me at the park on Schiebroekseweg!” I’m like, “Sure, why not?” I grab a quick breakfast—just some toast, nothing fancy. But I spill coffee all over my shirt. Classic me, right? I hop on my bike, zooming down the streets. Schiebroek is kinda small, but it’s got this vibe. The houses on the Van der Waalsstraat are all cute and stuff. I mean, who wouldn’t wanna live there? But then I hit a pothole. Boom! My bike’s wobbling like crazy. I’m cursing like a sailor. “Great start, genius!” Finally, I get to the park. Joris is there, looking all chill. We start talking about life, you know, the usual. Then outta nowhere, this dog runs up to us. It’s a big ol’ fluffy thing, and it jumps on Joris. He’s like, “Dude, get it off me!” I’m dying laughing. But then, the owner shows up. She’s all frantic, like, “I’m so sorry!” But I’m thinking, “Lady, it’s just a dog!” Anyway, she’s super nice, and we end up chatting. Turns out she lives on the other side of Schiebroek, near the school on de Laan van de Kralingseweg. Small world, right? After that, we decide to grab some food. We hit up this little café on the corner of de Korte Laan. I order a burger, and it’s massive! Like, I’m talking a tower of meat. I can’t even fit it in my mouth. Joris is cracking jokes, saying I need a bigger jaw. I’m like, “Shut up, man!” Then, outta nowhere, it starts pouring. I mean, like, monsoon-level rain. We dash inside, but the café’s packed. I’m soaked, and my hair’s a mess. I’m feeling all dramatic, like, “Why, Schiebroek, why?” But then, this cute girl offers me her umbrella. I’m like, “Wow, thanks!” We start chatting, and she’s from the other side of town. We bond over our love for fries from the snack bar on de Schiebroekseweg. I’m thinking, “This day isn’t so bad after all.” But then, my phone buzzes. It’s my boss. “Need you at work ASAP!” I’m like, “Are you kidding me?” I tell Joris I gotta bounce. He’s laughing, saying I’m always on call. I’m like, “Yeah, well, adulting sucks!” I bike back, dodging puddles. Schiebroek’s streets are slick, and I’m slipping everywhere. I’m yelling at the sky, “Why can’t I just have one normal day?” Finally, I get to work, and it’s chaos. My team’s all stressed, and I’m just trying to keep it together. I’m thinking, “This is not what I signed up for.” But then, we pull it off. We finish the project, and I’m feeling like a champ. As I’m leaving, I pass by the park again. It’s all calm now, and I see the dog with its owner. They’re playing fetch, and I can’t help but smile. Schiebroek, you’re a wild ride, but I wouldn’t trade ya for anything. So yeah, that was my day. Full of ups and downs, but hey, that’s life, right? Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
