Man, what a day! Seriously, I can’t even. So, I wake up in Veldhuizen, right? The sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I’m an admin, so my life is basically spreadsheets and emails. But today? Nah, not happening. I’m cruising down the Hoofdstraat, thinking about grabbing a coffee at that cute little café, De Koffiehoek. You know, the one with the weirdly awesome pastries? But then, BAM! I hit a traffic jam. Like, what even? It’s Veldhuizen, not Amsterdam! I’m stuck there, fuming. I mean, come on! I’ve got stuff to do! I’m tapping my fingers on the steering wheel, and I swear, I could’ve made a whole new beat for a rap song. Finally, I get through, and I’m like, “YES!” But then I realize I forgot my wallet. Ugh! So, I’m driving around, trying to find a place to park. I swing by the Veldhuizerweg, and it’s packed. Like, where did all these people come from? I’m about to lose it. I finally find a spot near the park, but it’s a bit of a hike. Whatever, I need that caffeine fix. I get to De Koffiehoek, and guess what? They’re out of my fave croissant. Seriously? I’m about to throw a tantrum like a toddler. But I settle for a muffin. Not the same, but hey, it’s food. I sit down, and just as I’m about to take a bite, my phone buzzes. It’s my boss. Great. Just great. He’s like, “We need that report ASAP!” I’m like, “Dude, I’m literally in a café.” But he doesn’t care. So, I chug my coffee, muffin crumbs flying everywhere, and rush back to the office on the Veldhuizerlaan. I get there, and the printer’s jammed. Of course it is! I’m wrestling with it like it’s a wild animal. Finally, I get it working, but now I’m covered in ink. I look like I just lost a fight with a squid. Then, outta nowhere, my coworker, Lisa, bursts in. She’s all excited, talking about some festival happening at the Veldhuizen square. I’m like, “What? When?” Apparently, it’s today! I’m torn between work and fun. But, c’mon, it’s a festival! I finish my report, send it off, and I’m outta there. I race to the square, and wow, it’s packed! There are food stalls, music, and people dancing. I’m feeling the vibe. I grab some fries from that stand on the corner of the Marktstraat. Best fries ever, by the way. I’m munching away, and I see this guy juggling. Like, how does he not drop anything? I’m impressed. Then, I spot my friend, Tom, and we start chatting. He’s telling me about his new job, and I’m like, “Dude, that’s awesome!” But then he spills his drink all over me. Classic Tom. I’m laughing it off, but inside, I’m like, “Really?” But whatever, it’s all good. We hit up a few more stalls, and I try this weird cheese that’s supposed to be local. It’s surprisingly good! Who knew Veldhuizen had such hidden gems? As the sun sets, the whole square lights up. It’s beautiful. I’m standing there, feeling all the feels. I think about how crazy today was. From traffic jams to festivals, it’s wild how life can flip in a day. I head home, exhausted but happy. Veldhuizen, you’ve got my heart. Even on the craziest days, you know how to make me smile. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
