Man, what a day! I swear, Vleuten really knows how to throw a curveball. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Ha! Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First stop, the market on de Laan van de Kruidnagel. I’m all pumped to grab some fresh veggies for my client. I mean, who doesn’t love a good carrot, am I right? But then, boom! I get there, and it’s like a scene from a zombie movie. People everywhere, pushing and shoving. I’m dodging carts like I’m in some twisted grocery game show. And then, I spot this lady. She’s got a cart full of stuff, and I’m thinking, “Cool, she’s got good taste.” But then she starts arguing with the vendor over a rotten tomato. Like, lady, it’s a TOMATO. Chill! I’m standing there, trying to keep my cool, but inside I’m like, “This is why we can’t have nice things!” After surviving the market madness, I head over to the Vleutenseweg. I’m on a mission to find the perfect outfit for my client’s big event. I pop into this cute little boutique, and OMG, the clothes are to die for! I’m flipping through racks, and I find this killer dress. It’s like, “Hello, gorgeous!” But then, I check the price tag. Ugh, my heart sank. I mean, who do they think they are? Gucci? So, I’m feeling a bit defeated, but then I remember the thrift shop on de Veldweg. You know, the one that’s like a treasure chest? I rush over, and it’s like a miracle! I find this vintage jacket that’s just screaming my client’s name. I’m talking one-of-a-kind vibes. I’m practically dancing in the aisle. But wait, it gets better! I’m checking out, and the cashier, this super chill dude, tells me about a pop-up food truck festival at the park. I’m like, “Shut up! I’m so there!” So, I grab my stuff and head to the park. Now, let me tell you, the food trucks are a whole vibe. I’m talking gourmet tacos, vegan burgers, and this crazy dessert truck that has everything from churros to freakin’ ice cream sandwiches. I’m in heaven! I grab a taco, and it’s like a flavor explosion in my mouth. I’m just standing there, taco in one hand, phone in the other, snapping pics for the ‘gram. But then, outta nowhere, it starts pouring. Like, seriously? I’m running for cover, trying not to drop my taco. I duck under a tree, and I’m just standing there, drenched, laughing at the absurdity of it all. I mean, who knew Vleuten could be so dramatic? Finally, the rain stops, and I’m like, “Okay, let’s wrap this day up.” I head back to my car, and as I’m driving down de Vleutenseweg, I see this beautiful sunset. It’s like the sky is on fire. I pull over, just to soak it all in. I’m feeling all the feels—happy, grateful, and a bit exhausted. So, yeah, Vleuten, you wild city. You had me running around, laughing, and even a bit frustrated. But at the end of the day, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Here’s to more crazy days in this quirky little town!
