Man, what a day! Seriously, I can’t even. So, I wake up in Wijhe, right? You know, that cute little town in the Netherlands, with its canals and all. I’m an admin, but today felt like I was in a reality show or something. First off, I’m late. Classic me. I sprint down the Kerkstraat, dodging cyclists like I’m in some kind of obstacle course. Like, why do they think they own the road? Chill, people! Anyway, I finally get to the office on the Hoofdstraat, and guess what? The printer’s jammed. Ugh! I mean, c’mon! It’s like it knows I’m in a hurry. So, I’m wrestling with this stupid machine, and I’m sweating like I just ran a marathon. I’m talking full-on panic mode. I finally get it working, but then my boss walks in. Great timing, right? He’s all like, “What’s up?” and I’m just standing there, covered in ink. I’m like, “Oh, you know, just living the dream.” Sarcasm level: 100. Then, I get a call from a client. They’re freaking out about some paperwork. I’m trying to calm them down, but they’re going off about how they need it yesterday. I’m like, “Dude, I can’t time travel!” But I manage to sort it out. Phew! Lunchtime rolls around, and I decide to hit up that little café on the corner of de Wetering. Best sandwiches ever! I grab a “broodje kroket” and sit outside. The sun’s shining, and for a moment, life is good. But then, outta nowhere, this pigeon swoops down and tries to steal my lunch! I’m flailing my arms like a madman. People are staring. I’m like, “Get outta here, you feathered thief!” After lunch, I head back to the office, and it’s like a tornado hit. Papers everywhere! My coworker, Jan, is on the phone, yelling about some delivery mix-up. I’m just standing there, thinking, “Why do I even work here?” But then, I remember the view from my window. You can see the beautiful Wijhese Molen. It’s kinda calming, you know? Later, I decide to take a walk to clear my head. I stroll down the beautiful dike along the IJssel River. The water’s glistening, and I see some kids fishing. I’m like, “Man, I wish I was a kid again.” No worries, just fishing and hanging out. But then, I get a text. It’s my friend, and he’s like, “Let’s hit up the pub later!” I’m like, “Yes, please!” I need a drink after this chaos. So, I finish up at work, and I’m finally free. I meet my buddy at the local pub on de Brink. We grab some beers, and I’m venting about my day. He’s laughing, and I’m like, “Dude, you have no idea!” As the night goes on, I forget all the stress. We’re joking around, and I even try to do a Dutch dance. Spoiler alert: I’m terrible at it. But who cares? We’re having a blast. By the end of the night, I’m tipsy and happy. I walk home, taking in the sights of Wijhe. The streets are quiet, and I can hear the distant sound of a train. I think about how crazy today was, but also how much I love this little town. So yeah, that was my day. Intense, emotional, and totally wild. Just another day in Wijhe, I guess!
