Man, what a day! Seriously, I can’t even. So, I wake up in Wilnis, right? The sun’s blazin’ through my window on de Kromme Mijdrecht. I’m like, “Great, another day of bullfighting practice.” But today? Today was a whole different ball game. First off, I’m rollin’ down the Hoofdweg, and I swear, I see this old dude trying to cross the street. He’s like a turtle on a mission, man. I’m thinkin’, “C’mon, bro, you got this!” But nah, he’s takin’ his sweet time. I almost honked, but then I remembered my mom’s voice in my head, “Patience, my son.” So, I chill. But then, outta nowhere, a bike zooms past me! Like, dude, where’s the fire? I’m just tryna enjoy my morning coffee, ya know? Anyway, I finally get to the arena. The vibe is electric! I’m pumped, ready to show off my skills. But then, I hear this commotion. Turns out, some guy forgot his gear. Like, how do you forget your gear? It’s like a chef forgettin’ his knife! So, I’m sittin’ there, rollin’ my eyes, thinkin’ this is gonna be a disaster. Then, the moment arrives. I’m in the ring, and the crowd’s goin’ wild. I can feel the energy, man! But then, I see the bull. This ain’t just any bull; this dude looks like he’s been hittin’ the gym. I’m talkin’ serious muscle! I’m like, “Okay, this is gonna be fun.” I do my thing, and it’s goin’ great until I trip over my own feet. Yup, classic me. I hit the ground, and the crowd gasps. I’m layin’ there, thinkin’, “This is it. My career’s over.” But then, the bull just walks past me like, “Nah, I’m good.” I get up, dust myself off, and the crowd erupts! I’m like, “Yeah, that’s right! I meant to do that!” After the show, I’m feelin’ like a rockstar. I head over to the local café on de Zwarteweg. I order a stroopwafel and a coffee. Best combo ever! I’m sittin’ there, just chillin’, when I overhear this couple arguing. They’re goin’ at it about the best route to take to the Wilnis train station. I’m like, “Dude, just take the bus!” But hey, who am I to interrupt? Then, I get a text from my buddy. He’s like, “Yo, let’s hit up the park later.” I’m down! So, I grab my stuff and head to the Wilnis park. It’s beautiful there, man. Trees everywhere, kids playin’, and the smell of fresh grass. I’m feelin’ good, ya know? But then, outta nowhere, it starts to rain. Like, seriously? I’m thinkin’, “This day just keeps gettin’ better.” I run for cover, and guess who I bump into? The old dude from earlier! He’s just chillin’ under a tree, lookin’ all wise. I’m like, “Hey, man! You made it!” He just chuckles and says, “Patience, my son.” I can’t help but laugh. So, we end up talkin’ about life, the universe, and everything in between. Turns out, he used to be a banderillero too! What are the odds? We swap stories, and I’m feelin’ all inspired. Finally, the rain stops, and I head home. I’m exhausted but happy. Wilnis, man, it’s got its quirks, but it’s home. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. What a day!
