Man, what a day! Seriously, I can’t even. So, I woke up in Fredrikstad, right? The sun was shining, and I thought, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I hit up Storgata. You know, the main street? It’s like the heartbeat of the city. I’m strolling, vibing, when I see this cute café. Can’t remember the name, but they had the best cinnamon rolls. I mean, like, I could’ve married one. But then, bam! My phone buzzes. It’s my buddy, Lars. He’s like, “Dude, meet me at the fortress!” So, I’m like, “Sure, why not?” I mean, who doesn’t wanna check out Fredrikstad’s old fortress? It’s this massive thing, built in the 16th century. Super cool, right? But I’m halfway there, and I realize I forgot my wallet. Ugh! I’m so mad at myself. Like, how do you forget your wallet? Anyway, I sprint back to my place on Båthavna. I’m dodging people, tripping over my own feet. I finally grab my wallet, and I’m off again. But guess what? Lars texts me again. “I’m at the fortress, bro!” I’m like, “Dude, I’m on my way!” I get to the fortress, and it’s packed. Tourists everywhere. I’m trying to find Lars, but it’s like looking for a needle in a haystack. I finally spot him by the cannon. He’s waving like a maniac. I’m relieved, but then I see he’s holding a giant hot dog. I’m like, “You couldn’t save me one?” We chill for a bit, laughing about random stuff. Then, outta nowhere, it starts pouring. I mean, like, classic Norwegian weather, right? One minute it’s sunny, the next it’s a monsoon. We dash for cover under this old tree by the river. The Glomma River, by the way, is super pretty. But I’m soaked, and my hair looks like a wet mop. After the rain, we decide to hit up the old town, Gamlebyen. It’s this charming area with cobblestone streets and colorful wooden houses. I’m snapping pics like a tourist. I feel like I’m in a postcard or something. But then, I trip on a cobblestone. Classic me. I’m on the ground, laughing and cursing at the same time. Lars helps me up, and we keep wandering. We find this little art gallery. I’m not really into art, but this place is cool. The vibe is artsy, and the people are chill. I see this painting that looks like a cat exploded. I’m like, “What even is this?” Lars is cracking up. Then, we hit a pub on Kjøpmannsgata. I order a beer, and Lars gets a cider. We’re just chilling, talking about life, you know? But then, this guy at the bar starts yelling. He’s super drunk and thinks he’s the king of Fredrikstad. I’m like, “Dude, chill. You’re not even wearing a crown.” After that, we decide to walk along the river again. The sunset is insane. Like, the sky is on fire. I’m feeling all the feels. It’s one of those moments where you just wanna freeze time. But then, I step in a puddle. My shoes are soaked again. I’m like, “Why, universe, why?” Finally, we end the day at this cozy spot by the river. I’m exhausted but happy. Fredrikstad is wild, man. It’s got this mix of history, beauty, and chaos. I love it. I can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings. But for now, I’m just gonna crash. What a day!
