Man, what a day in Leirvik! Seriously, I’m still buzzing from it. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I hit up the local café on Strandgata. Best coffee in town, no cap. I order my usual, a flat white, and the barista, bless her heart, spills half of it. I’m like, “Great start, dude.” But she’s super apologetic, gives me a free pastry. Score! I’m munching on this cinnamon roll, and it’s like a hug in my mouth. Then I decide to stroll down to the harbor. Leirvik’s waterfront is stunning, man. The fjords, the boats, the whole vibe. I’m snapping pics for my Insta, right? Suddenly, this seagull swoops down and tries to steal my roll! Like, chill, bro! I’m not sharing! I wave my arms like a madman, and the bird just looks at me like, “You think you own this place?” After that, I head over to the old church on Håkon V’s gate. It’s beautiful, but I’m feeling kinda weird. Like, I’m a texture artist, right? I’m always looking at surfaces, colors, and patterns. But today, I’m just staring at this church, thinking, “Why can’t I make textures this epic?” I mean, the stonework is insane! I’m getting all inspired, but also frustrated. Ugh! So, I’m walking back, and I pass by the Leirvik Kulturhus. They’re setting up for some event. I’m curious, so I pop in. Turns out, it’s an art exhibit! I’m like, “Heck yeah!” I love art, obviously. But then, I see this one piece that’s just a blank canvas. I’m standing there, scratching my head. “Is this art? Or did the artist just forget to finish?” I can’t help but laugh. But then, I overhear this guy talking about how deep it is. I’m like, “Dude, it’s literally nothing.” I mean, come on! I get it, art is subjective, but c’mon! I’m getting all riled up, but I just roll my eyes and move on. Next, I decide to hit up the local market on Torget. Fresh produce, fish, the whole shebang. I’m in heaven. I grab some fresh cod, and this old lady starts chatting me up about her secret fish stew recipe. I’m like, “Lady, I’m just here for the cod.” But she’s relentless! I’m nodding along, trying to be polite, but inside I’m like, “Help!” Finally, I make my way to the park by the water. I plop down on a bench, just trying to chill. But then, this kid runs by, chasing a soccer ball, and BOOM! The ball hits me right in the leg. I’m like, “Seriously?!” The kid just laughs and runs off. I can’t help but chuckle. Kids are wild, man. As the sun starts to set, I’m feeling all sorts of emotions. Happy, frustrated, inspired, and just plain tired. I think about how Leirvik is this mix of beauty and chaos. It’s like, one minute you’re sipping coffee, and the next you’re dodging seagulls and getting hit by soccer balls. I head home, and I’m just reflecting on the day. I love this city, even with its quirks. It’s got character, you know? And I wouldn’t trade my crazy day for anything. Leirvik, you’ve got my heart.
