Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a glazier in Lillehammer is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds chirping, and I’m thinkin’, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. First stop, I’m on Storgata, the main street. It’s packed with tourists. Like, seriously, can’t a guy just get to work? I’m dodging folks left and right. I swear, if I trip over a kid’s scooter one more time, I’m gonna lose it. Anyway, I finally get to the job site. It’s this old building near the Olympic Park. You know, where they had the Winter Olympics back in ’94? Yeah, that place. So, I’m up on the ladder, right? Just me, my tools, and a whole lotta glass. I’m tryin’ to replace this huge window. It’s a beast. And then, bam! Outta nowhere, this gust of wind hits. I’m like, “No way!” Glass starts wobbling. I’m sweating bullets. I’m thinkin’, “If this thing shatters, I’m toast.” But I manage to hold it together. Phew! Then, I hear this commotion down below. Turns out, some dude’s trying to impress his date by juggling. Juggling! In the middle of the street! I can’t even juggle my lunch without dropping it. Anyway, he drops a ball, and it rolls right under my ladder. I’m like, “Dude, really?” But the girl laughs, and he’s all embarrassed. Classic. After that, I’m back to work. I finally get the window in, and it looks dope. I’m feeling like a champ. But then, I notice a crack. A freakin’ crack! I’m ready to scream. I mean, come on! I just spent an hour on that thing. So, I gotta take it out and start over. Just my luck, right? By now, it’s lunchtime. I hit up a café on Kirkegata. Grab a coffee and a kanelbolle. Man, those cinnamon rolls are life! I sit outside, watchin’ the world go by. Lillehammer’s got this vibe, ya know? The mountains in the background, the river flowing. It’s beautiful. But then, I see this guy trying to take a selfie with a moose statue. Like, dude, it’s a statue! After lunch, I’m back at it. I’m on my way to a new site on Håkons Hall. It’s a bit of a trek, but I’m pumped. I love the hustle. But then, I get stuck behind this slowpoke on a bike. I’m like, “C’mon, man! I got glass to install!” Finally, I pass him, and he gives me this look like I’m the bad guy. Whatever, dude. I get to the site, and it’s a whole different vibe. This place is huge! I’m talkin’ massive windows, the kind that make you feel small. I’m up there, working my magic, and I can’t help but think about how cool Lillehammer is. The history, the culture, the people. It’s got character, ya know? But then, disaster strikes again. I drop a piece of glass. It shatters everywhere. I’m like, “Nooooo!” I can feel my heart sink. I’m just standing there, staring at the mess. But then, this old lady walks by and says, “Don’t worry, dear. It happens to the best of us.” I chuckle. She’s right. Finally, I wrap up the day. I’m exhausted but happy. I head back down Storgata, and the sun’s setting. The sky’s all orange and pink. I stop for a minute, just taking it all in. Lillehammer, man. It’s got its ups and downs, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. So, yeah, that was my day. Full of surprises, laughter, and a bit of chaos. Just another day in the life of a glazier in Lillehammer. Can’t wait to do it all again tomorrow!
