Man, what a day! Seriously, I’m still reeling from all the craziness in Moss. Like, who knew this little town could pack such a punch? I mean, I’m just a visiting prof, right? But today was a rollercoaster, and I’m not even sure where to start. So, I woke up in my tiny hotel on Storgata. It’s cute, but the bed? Ugh, felt like sleeping on a pile of bricks. Anyway, I chugged some coffee and headed out. The air was crisp, and I was ready to tackle the day. First stop? The university. I had a lecture to give, and I was pumped. But then, bam! I got lost. Like, seriously lost. I took a wrong turn on Torggata and ended up in this random alley. I swear, it looked like a scene from a horror movie. I was half-expecting a ghost to pop out and say, “Welcome to Moss!” But no, just some stray cats giving me the side-eye. Finally found my way back, and the lecture? It was lit! The students were engaged, asking questions, and I was vibing. But then, mid-lecture, the fire alarm goes off. Like, really? I’m trying to teach about the importance of critical thinking, and now I gotta think about escaping a burning building? Classic Moss, right? We all shuffled outside, and I’m standing there, trying to keep my cool. But then I see this guy in a Viking helmet. No joke! He’s just chilling, waving at everyone. I couldn’t help but laugh. Only in Moss, I guess. After the chaos, I decided to grab some lunch. Hit up this little café on Kirkegata. The food? Amazing! I had this fish dish that was so fresh, it practically swam onto my plate. But then, I spilled my drink all over myself. Like, come on! I’m trying to impress the locals here, and I look like a total mess. Then, I wandered around the harbor. The view? Stunning! The fjord was sparkling, and I felt this wave of happiness wash over me. I mean, how can you not love a place like this? But then, I saw a seagull swoop down and steal someone’s hot dog. I was like, “Dude, that bird has no chill!” Later, I decided to check out the local shops. Found this quirky little store on Rådhusgata. They had the weirdest stuff—like troll figurines and knitted sweaters with moose on them. I couldn’t resist. I bought a sweater, thinking it’d be a great souvenir. Spoiler alert: it’s hideous. But hey, it’s Moss, right? As the day wound down, I headed to the waterfront. The sunset was epic. I mean, the colors were like a painting. I sat there, just soaking it all in. But then, out of nowhere, it started to rain. Of course! I’m in Moss, and the weather can’t just be nice for one day. I dashed for cover, laughing at the absurdity of it all. By the time I got back to my hotel, I was exhausted but happy. I mean, sure, the day was a mess, but it was MY mess. Moss had thrown everything at me—lost, laughed, and even a little bit of love. I can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings. Who knows? Maybe I’ll run into that Viking again.
