Man, what a day! I swear, being a glazier in Notodden is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m thinkin’, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Ha! Spoiler alert: it was anything but. First off, I hit the road down Storgata. You know, the main drag. It’s like the heartbeat of Notodden. I’m cruisin’, jamming to some tunes, and then BAM! Roadwork. Seriously? It’s like they’re trying to ruin my vibe. I’m sittin’ there, fuming, watchin’ the clock tick away. I’m gonna be late for my first job. Great start, right? Finally, I get to this old house on Heddalsvegen. The owner, this sweet old lady, is super nice. But man, she’s got a million stories. I’m tryin’ to focus on the window I gotta fix, but she’s talkin’ about her cat, Mr. Whiskers, and how he once chased a squirrel up a tree. I’m like, “That’s cool, but I gotta cut this glass before I lose my mind.” So, I’m cuttin’ the glass, and it’s goin’ smooth. Then, outta nowhere, I drop it. CRASH! Glass everywhere. I’m like, “Noooo!” The lady gasps, and I’m just standin’ there, feelin’ like a total idiot. I mean, who drops glass? Me, apparently. I clean it up, but I’m still feelin’ that sting of embarrassment. Next, I head over to Tinnsjøvegen. This place is a bit sketchy, but the job’s gotta get done. I’m fixin’ a storefront window for this new café. The owner, a young dude, is all hyped about his “artisanal” coffee. I’m thinkin’, “Dude, it’s just coffee.” But whatever, I’m here to work. As I’m workin’, I hear this loud noise. Turns out, it’s a bunch of kids playin’ soccer in the street. They’re kickin’ the ball around like they’re in the World Cup or somethin’. I can’t help but smile. It’s kinda nice to see kids just bein’ kids, you know? But then, one of ‘em kicks the ball too hard, and it smashes into the café window I just fixed. I’m like, “Are you kidding me?!” The café owner freaks out, and I’m just standin’ there, facepalming. I mean, what are the odds? I’m ready to lose it, but then I see the kids runnin’ over, apologizin’ like crazy. They’re all wide-eyed and scared. I can’t stay mad. I just laugh it off. “Alright, kids, let’s not break any more windows today, okay?” After that chaos, I head to the last job of the day on Høydalsvegen. It’s a big ol’ house, and the view of the fjord is insane. I’m up on a ladder, and I can see the whole town. It’s beautiful, man. Makes all the craziness worth it. But then, I get a call from my buddy. He’s like, “Dude, you won’t believe what happened!” I’m tryin’ to focus, but I’m also curious. Turns out, he just got a new puppy. I’m like, “That’s awesome! But I’m on a ladder, man!” He’s rambling about the puppy’s antics, and I’m just nodding, trying not to drop my tools. Finally, I finish up, and I’m exhausted. I head back down Storgata, and the sun’s settin’. The sky’s all orange and pink, and I’m feelin’ grateful. Notodden’s got its quirks, but it’s home. I love this place, even with all the craziness. So, yeah, that was my day. Full of surprises, laughter, and a bit of chaos. Just another day in the life of a glazier in Notodden. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
