Man, what a day! I swear, Skien really knows how to throw a curveball. I woke up thinking it’d be just another chill day, you know? But nah, Skien had other plans. First off, I hit the streets around 8 AM. The sun was shining, and I was like, “Yesss, finally some good vibes!” I strolled down Kjølnesveien, feeling all zen. But then, boom! A pigeon poops on my shoulder. Like, seriously? Thanks, Skien, for the morning gift. I laughed it off, but inside I was like, “Really? This is how we’re starting?” So, I head to my first client. They live near the Telemark Canal. Beautiful spot, right? But the traffic on Strandgata was a nightmare. I mean, come on! It’s not rush hour, people! I was stuck behind this old lady driving 20 km/h. I was ready to lose it. I mean, I’m a psychologist, not a saint! Finally, I get to the session. My client, let’s call her Sara, is going through some heavy stuff. We’re talking about her anxiety, and I’m trying to be all supportive. But then, she starts crying. Like, full-on sobbing. And I’m sitting there, thinking, “What do I do?!” I mean, I’m trained for this, but it’s different when it’s real, ya know? I handed her a tissue, and she just kept going. I felt like I was in a soap opera. After that, I needed a breather. So, I hit up a café on Storgata. Best coffee in town, no joke. I ordered a cappuccino, and the barista was super chill. We started chatting about the weather, and he says, “You know, it’s gonna rain later.” I’m like, “Great, just what I need!” But then, he gives me a free pastry. I mean, who does that? I was like, “Dude, you’re a lifesaver!” But then, as I’m munching on this delicious pastry, I get a call. It’s my buddy, Lars. He’s in a panic. Apparently, he locked himself out of his apartment on Bøleveien. I’m like, “Dude, how do you even manage that?” But I can’t leave him hanging, so I rush over. Now, Bøleveien is a bit of a trek. I’m sprinting through the streets, dodging people like I’m in some kind of obstacle course. I finally get there, and Lars is just standing there, looking all defeated. I couldn’t help but laugh. “You really need to get a spare key, man!” We finally get into his place, and he’s like, “Let’s celebrate!” So, we order pizza. And guess what? The delivery guy gets lost. I’m sitting there, thinking, “Is this day ever gonna chill?” But when the pizza finally arrives, it’s like heaven. We devour it like we haven’t eaten in days. After all that chaos, I head back home. I’m walking along the canal, and it’s just beautiful. The sunset is painting the sky in shades of orange and pink. I stop for a sec, take a deep breath, and think, “Wow, Skien, you’re a wild ride.” So, yeah, that was my day. Full of ups and downs, laughter and tears. Skien, you crazy city, you keep me on my toes!
