Man, what a day! Seriously, I’m still reeling from it. So, I’m a Nose, right? Yeah, that’s a thing. I sniff out scents for a living. Sounds weird? It is. But today in Cashmere, NZ? Wild. First off, Cashmere is this chill suburb in Christchurch. You got the Port Hills on one side, and it’s just stunning. I mean, the views? Breathtaking. But let’s get to the juicy bits. I woke up late, of course. Alarm didn’t go off. Classic me. Rushed outta bed, threw on whatever. I’m talking mismatched socks, hair like a tornado hit it. I sprinted down Cashmere Rd, dodging cars like I’m in some action movie. Then, boom! I smell something. Like, really smell it. It’s this fresh bakery scent wafting from the Cashmere Bakery. I’m like, “Dude, I need that in my life.” So, I pop in, grab a pie. Best decision ever. I mean, who doesn’t love a good meat pie? But then, as I’m munching, I hear this commotion outside. I peek out, and there’s a bunch of kids on the corner of Hoon Hay Rd, yelling about some lost dog. I’m thinking, “Great, just what I need. A dog drama.” But then, I see it. This little furball, a scruffy terrier, running around like it owns the place. So, I’m like, “I gotta help.” I dash out, pie in hand, and start calling the dog. It stops, looks at me, and I swear it’s judging my life choices. But hey, I’m a Nose! I can charm a dog. I toss a piece of my pie, and boom! It’s mine. The kids are cheering, and I’m feeling like a hero. But then, outta nowhere, this old dude on a bike zooms past. He’s yelling about something. Turns out, he’s mad about the kids being too loud. I’m like, “Chill, grandpa! It’s a dog rescue mission!” But he’s not having it. I mean, come on! After that, I’m walking down Cashmere Rd, still buzzing from the pie and the dog drama. I hit up the Cashmere Hills, and wow, the view is insane. I’m standing there, feeling all philosophical, like, “What’s life, man?” But then, I trip over a rock. Classic. I finally make it to the top, and it’s like, “Whoa.” The whole city sprawled out below me. I take a deep breath, and bam! I smell something else. It’s this floral scent, like a garden party gone wild. I follow it, and it leads me to this hidden garden on Colombo St. There’s this lady there, gardening like she’s in a zen state. I’m like, “What’s your secret?” She just smiles and hands me a flower. I’m thinking, “This is the best day ever!” But then, I remember I’m a Nose, and I gotta get back to work. So, I head back down, feeling all kinds of emotions. Happy, surprised, a bit angry at that old dude. I mean, come on! It’s just a dog! By the time I get home, I’m exhausted. But I can’t stop smiling. Cashmere, man. It’s got this vibe. It’s quirky, it’s beautiful, and it’s full of surprises. Just like me. So yeah, that was my day. A wild ride through Cashmere, full of pies, dogs, and a bit of drama. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
