Man, what a day! Seriously, I’m still buzzin’ from all the craziness. So, I woke up in Homedale, NZ, right? You know, that chill little spot with the best vibes. I mean, who doesn’t love a good ol’ kiwi town? Anyway, I had this live ad gig on Main St. today. Thought it’d be a breeze. Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. First off, I’m rollin’ up to the site, and it’s like, what the heck? There’s a freakin’ parade! Like, outta nowhere! I’m talkin’ floats, music, the whole shebang. I’m like, “Great, just what I need.” But then I see this cute dog in a tutu. I mean, c’mon! How can you be mad at that? So, I snap a pic for the ‘gram. #HomedaleVibes, right? But then, I’m tryin’ to set up my stuff, and this dude on a bike zooms past me. Almost knocks over my whole setup! I’m like, “Bro, chill! It’s not a race!” He just laughs and keeps pedaling. I swear, some people have no respect for the hustle. So, I finally get my banner up on the corner of Homedale Rd. and Main St. It’s lookin’ fresh, right? But then, outta nowhere, it starts to rain. Like, seriously? I’m in the middle of a live ad, and the sky decides to open up. I’m scrambling to cover my gear. I’m like, “This is not how I pictured my day!” But then, this sweet old lady comes up to me. She’s got this big umbrella and says, “You look like you need a hand, dear.” I’m like, “You’re a lifesaver!” We end up chatting about the good ol’ days in Homedale. She tells me about the old cinema on the corner of McMillan St. and how it used to be the place to be. I’m like, “Wow, I wish I could’ve seen that!” After the rain, the sun pops out, and it’s like a whole new world. I’m feelin’ pumped again. I start my live ad, and people are actually stopping to watch! I’m throwin’ in jokes, makin’ ‘em laugh. I even did a little dance. Yeah, I know, cringe, but whatever! Gotta keep it real, right? Then, outta nowhere, this kid runs up to me. He’s like, “Are you famous?” I’m like, “Nah, just a dude with a banner.” But he’s starry-eyed, and I’m thinkin’, “Man, I should’ve brought my sunglasses. I’m blinding this kid with my awesomeness!” But then, the day takes a turn. I see this guy on the other side of the street. He’s yelling at someone. I can’t hear what’s goin’ on, but it looks intense. I’m like, “Dude, chill! We’re in Homedale, not a soap opera!” But then, he starts walkin’ towards me. I’m like, “Oh boy, here we go.” He gets closer, and I’m ready to duck. But he just wants to know about my ad! I’m like, “Phew, false alarm!” We end up chatting, and he’s actually super cool. Turns out he’s a local artist. We swap numbers, and I’m thinkin’, “Maybe I’ll get some sweet art for my place.” As the day winds down, I’m feelin’ all sorts of emotions. Happy, tired, a bit annoyed, but mostly grateful. Homedale’s got this vibe, ya know? It’s like a small town with big heart. I pack up my stuff, and as I’m leavin’, I see that dog in the tutu again. This time, I give it a little scratch behind the ears. So yeah, that was my day in Homedale. Full of ups and downs, but that’s life, right? Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
