Man, what a day! Seriously, I’m still reeling from it. So, I wake up in Katikati, right? The sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I’m a Financial Planning Specialist, but today felt more like a rollercoaster. I grab my coffee from the local café on Main Rd. You know, the one with the best flat whites? Yeah, that one. I’m all set to tackle the day. But then, BAM! My phone buzzes. Client crisis. Ugh. So, I’m rushing down Beach Rd, trying to get to my office. I’m dodging cyclists and those pesky ducks that think they own the road. Seriously, ducks? You’re not the mayor of Katikati! Anyway, I finally get to my desk, and my client is freaking out about their investments. Like, chill, dude! It’s not the end of the world. But then, I look out the window. The view of the Kaimai Ranges is stunning. I mean, how can you be mad when you’ve got that? But back to the drama. My client’s yelling about losing money. I’m like, “Bro, it’s just a dip. We’ll ride it out.” But no, he’s convinced it’s the apocalypse. After that, I decide to take a breather. I stroll down to the Katikati Bird Gardens. I mean, who doesn’t love a good bird? I’m there, just vibing, when I see this parrot. It’s squawking like it’s auditioning for a rock band. I’m cracking up. Like, “Dude, chill out!” But then, I get a text. Another client. This one’s mad about their retirement plan. I’m like, “Can’t a guy enjoy some birds?” But no, I gotta hustle back to the office. On the way, I pass by the Katikati Library. It’s this cute little spot, but today it’s packed. I swear, it’s like a book fair exploded in there. I can’t even think straight. I’m just trying to get back to my desk without losing my mind. Finally, I get back, and my phone rings again. It’s my buddy, Dave. He’s like, “Wanna hit up the pub later?” I’m like, “Dude, I’m drowning in financial chaos!” But then I think, “Maybe a pint wouldn’t hurt.” So, I wrap up the day, and I’m feeling a bit better. I head to the pub on the corner of Main and Beach. It’s packed, but I find a spot. I order a cold one, and suddenly, all the stress melts away. I’m chatting with the locals, and they’re all like, “You look like you’ve had a day!” I’m like, “You have no idea!” We’re laughing, sharing stories, and I’m just grateful for this little town. Katikati, you crazy place, you’ve got my back. As the sun sets over the Kaimai Ranges, I realize that even on the wildest days, there’s beauty everywhere. I mean, who knew a day full of chaos could end with a smile? Cheers to that!
