Man, what a day! Seriously, I can’t even. So, I woke up in Kelburn, right? The sun was shining, birds were chirping, and I thought, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I hit up the Kelburn Village shops. You know, the cute little ones on Upland Rd? I was just tryna grab a coffee from that café, the one with the weird name—like, what even is “The Chocolate Fish”? Anyway, I’m in line, and this dude in front of me is taking FOREVER. Like, bro, it’s just coffee! I’m about to lose it. Finally, I get my flat white, and I’m feeling good. I step outside, and bam! I see this massive snake slithering across the street. No joke! I’m like, “What the heck?!” I’m a Snake Spell, but this is too real. Turns out, it was just a garden snake. Phew! But still, my heart was racing. So, I decide to stroll down to the Botanic Garden. You know, the one that’s got those epic views of the city? I’m walking along the paths, and it’s all good vibes. Then, I see this family having a picnic. They’ve got a whole spread—sandwiches, chips, the works. I’m like, “Man, I need to crash that party.” But I don’t. I just keep walking, feeling a bit jelly, ya know? Then, I hit up the Kelburn Cable Car. I mean, who doesn’t love a good ride? I hop on, and it’s packed. I’m squished between this old lady and a kid who’s way too hyped on sugar. The views are insane, though! You can see the whole city, and I’m just soaking it in. But then, the cable car stops. Like, what? We’re just hanging there, and I’m thinking, “Is this how I go out? Stuck in a cable car?” After what felt like an eternity, we’re moving again. I get off, and I’m like, “Finally!” But then I realize I left my phone in the car. Ugh! I sprint back, and of course, it’s gone. I’m freaking out. I’m like, “Great, now I’m gonna be that person who loses their phone in a cable car.” I finally find it at the lost and found. Thank goodness! I’m feeling like a champ again. So, I decide to head to the Kelburn Park. It’s got this awesome playground, and I just wanna chill. I sit on a bench, scrolling through my phone, and I see this cute dog. I’m talking, like, the fluffiest pup ever. I’m about to go pet it when the owner yanks it away. Rude! Then, outta nowhere, it starts pouring. I mean, like, torrential downpour. I’m soaked in seconds. I’m running for cover, laughing and cursing at the same time. “Kelburn weather, am I right?” I shout to no one in particular. I duck into this little pub on Kelburn Parade. It’s cozy, and I order a pint. I’m just sitting there, drying off, when I overhear this guy talking about the best fish and chips in town. I’m intrigued. I ask him where, and he says, “Oh, just down the road at the Kelburn Fish Market.” I’m like, “I’m on it!” After my pint, I head over. The fish and chips are legit! I’m munching away, feeling like a king. But then, I spill some on my shirt. Classic me, right? I’m laughing at myself, thinking, “This day is a mess, but it’s MY mess.” As the sun sets, I walk back home, feeling all the feels. Kelburn’s got this vibe, ya know? It’s quirky, it’s beautiful, and it’s totally unpredictable. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. So yeah, that was my day. Full of snakes, coffee, and a whole lotta chaos. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
