Man, what a day! Seriously, I’m still reeling from it. So, I’m a glazier, right? Just your average dude slinging glass in Mairehau, NZ. You know, the place with the best fish and chips on the planet? Anyway, let me tell ya about today. I woke up, sun shining, birds chirping. Thought, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Ha! Little did I know. First job was on Wainoni Rd. Nice spot, but the client? Total nightmare. She wanted a custom glass panel for her porch. Easy peasy, right? Wrong! She kept changing her mind. “No, I want it frosted!” “No, wait, clear!” I’m like, lady, make up your mind! I’m not a mind reader! Finally, after what felt like a million years, we settled on clear. I’m sweating bullets, trying to cut this glass. And guess what? I slip! Glass goes flying! I’m like, “Oh no, not again!” Luckily, it didn’t shatter. Just a little chip. Phew! But the look on her face? Priceless. I thought she was gonna faint. After that, I needed a breather. So, I hit up the local café on Marshland Rd. Best flat white in town, no joke. I grab my coffee, and boom! I see my mate Dave. He’s always got some wild story. Today, he’s telling me about this time he tried to surf at New Brighton. Spoiler alert: he wiped out. Classic Dave. But then, I get a call. Another job. This time, it’s on Innes Rd. A shop needs a new display window. I’m thinking, “Sweet, easy cash.” But when I get there, the owner’s a total grump. He’s pacing around, yelling about how he needs it done yesterday. Chill, mate! I’m not a magician! So, I get to work, and just when I’m about to finish, I hear this loud crash. I look up, and some kid on a bike just smashed into a parked car. I’m like, “Dude, are you okay?” He’s fine, just a bit shaken. But the car? Oof. I felt bad for the owner. Finally, I wrap up the window. The grumpy owner actually cracks a smile. I’m like, “Wow, did I just witness a miracle?” I leave, feeling pretty good. But then, on my way home, I hit traffic on Burwood Rd. Ugh! I’m stuck behind this old lady who’s going 20 in a 50 zone. I’m losing my mind! I mean, come on! I could walk faster! When I finally get home, I crash on the couch. I’m exhausted. But then, I remember I left my tools in the van. Great. Just great. So, I drag myself back out. As I’m walking back, I see the sunset over the hills. It’s stunning. I stop for a sec, just to take it in. Mairehau can be beautiful, you know? So, yeah, that was my day. Full of ups and downs. I laughed, I cried, I almost lost my mind. But hey, that’s life as a glazier in Mairehau. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
