Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a dispatcher in Brzesko is like riding a rollercoaster with no seatbelt. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m thinkin’, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First call comes in at 8 AM. Some dude on ul. Główna is stuck in traffic. Like, seriously? It’s Brzesko, not New York! I mean, how hard can it be? But nah, he’s losing it. I can hear him yelling through the phone. “Get me outta here!” I’m like, “Bro, it’s just a few cars. Chill!” But he’s not having it. I send a driver, and he’s still ranting. I swear, I could hear him from my desk. Then, around 10, I get a call from a lady on ul. Słowackiego. Her cat is stuck in a tree. I’m thinkin’, “Really? A cat?” But hey, it’s Brzesko, and we love our pets. So, I send someone over. Turns out, the cat’s name is Mr. Whiskers. Classic. The fire brigade shows up, and they’re all laughing. They get Mr. Whiskers down, and the lady is crying happy tears. I’m like, “This is what I live for!” But then, BAM! A call comes in from ul. Krakowska. A car accident. My heart drops. I’m like, “Oh no, not today!” I dispatch a team, and I’m pacing like a madman. I can’t even focus. I’m thinkin’ about the traffic, the people, the chaos. Brzesko’s small, but when something goes down, it feels like the whole town’s involved. I get updates. It’s a fender bender, thank goodness. But the drivers are arguing like it’s the end of the world. I’m on the line, trying to mediate. “Guys, it’s just a car! You’re both fine!” But they’re not hearing me. I’m like, “Can we just hug it out?” By noon, I’m exhausted. I grab a quick bite at my fave spot, the local kebab place. Best in Brzesko, no cap. I’m munching on my kebab, and I see the old man from ul. Piłsudskiego. He’s always sitting on the bench, feeding pigeons. I wave, and he gives me a thumbs up. That’s the vibe I need! But then, the phone rings again. A kid’s bike got stolen near the park. I’m like, “C’mon, Brzesko! We’re better than this!” I send a patrol, and I’m fuming. Who steals a kid’s bike? Seriously! I’m imagining the thief, probably some punk thinking he’s cool. Ugh, it makes my blood boil. Afternoon rolls around, and I’m still on edge. I get a call from a guy on ul. Wyszyńskiego. He’s locked out of his house. I’m like, “Dude, did you forget your keys again?” He’s panicking. I send someone to help. I can’t even. Finally, the day starts winding down. I’m wrapping up, and I get a call from a couple on ul. 1 Maja. They’re celebrating their anniversary. They want a ride to the restaurant. I’m like, “Aww, that’s sweet!” I hook them up with a driver, and they’re all smiles. It’s the little things, ya know? As I head home, I’m reflecting on the day. Brzesko is wild, but it’s my wild. The streets, the people, the chaos—it’s all part of the charm. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Even with the craziness, I love this town. So, yeah, that was my day. Just another Tuesday in Brzesko. Can’t wait to do it all over again tomorrow!
