Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being an auctioneer in Brzozów is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m thinkin’, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Ha! Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I hit up the local café on ul. 3 Maja. Best coffee in town, no cap. I order my usual – a double espresso, extra shot. I need that caffeine kick, ya know? But the barista, bless her heart, spills half of it. I’m like, “Great, just what I needed!” But she gives me a free pastry to make up for it. Sweet, right? So, I’m munching on this pączek, feeling a bit better. Then, I head to the auction house on ul. Rynek. It’s a cozy spot, but today? Packed! People everywhere, like sardines in a can. I’m tryin’ to set up, but there’s this dude, I swear, he’s just standing there, blocking the entrance. I’m like, “Bro, move it or lose it!” But he just stares at me. Ugh, people can be so clueless. Finally, I get the crowd hyped. I’m all like, “Ladies and gents, welcome to the Brzozów Auction Extravaganza!” I’m pumped, but then I see my buddy, Janek, in the back. He’s got this ridiculous hat on. I mean, it’s like a cross between a cowboy hat and a sombrero. I can’t help but laugh. I’m like, “Janek, what’s with the hat? You auctioning off cattle or what?” The crowd cracks up, and I’m feelin’ good. But then, bam! The first item up is this old painting. Looks like it’s been through a war. I’m tryin’ to hype it up, but no one’s biting. I’m like, “C’mon, folks! This is a masterpiece!” But they’re all just staring at me like I’m speaking Martian. I’m gettin’ frustrated. I mean, it’s Brzozów! We’ve got history, culture! This painting deserves love! Just when I’m about to give up, this little old lady in the front raises her hand. I’m like, “YES! Finally!” She bids, and suddenly, the whole room wakes up. It’s like someone flipped a switch. Bids start flying in, and I’m riding the wave. I’m shouting, “Going once, going twice!” It’s electric! I’m feelin’ like a rockstar. But then, outta nowhere, the power goes out. I’m talkin’ pitch black. People are gasping, and I’m just standing there, heart racing. I’m like, “Great, just great! What’s next? A zombie apocalypse?” But then, I hear Janek’s voice in the dark, “Don’t worry, I got my phone!” He turns on his flashlight, and we’re all laughing again. Gotta love Brzozów’s spirit, right? Power comes back, and we finish the auction. I’m exhausted but happy. People are chatting, and I’m just soaking it all in. Brzozów’s got this vibe, ya know? The streets, the people, the history. It’s like a big family reunion, but with more chaos. After the auction, I hit up ul. Słowackiego for some pierogi. Best decision ever. I’m sitting there, stuffing my face, and I can’t help but think about the day. It was wild, emotional, and totally unexpected. Just another day in Brzozów, I guess. So, yeah, that’s my day. Full of ups, downs, and a whole lotta laughs. Can’t wait to do it all again tomorrow!
