Man, what a day! I swear, being a cashier in Chrzanów is like riding a rollercoaster with no seatbelt. So, I roll into work at the local Biedronka, right? It’s on ul. Krakowska, and lemme tell ya, it was packed. Like, people were practically fighting over the last pack of toilet paper. Seriously, who hoards that stuff? First off, I’m just trying to get my coffee fix from the machine. You know, the one that’s always broken? Yeah, that one. I’m standing there, half asleep, and this old dude behind me starts grumbling about the prices. Like, chill, man! It’s not my fault you forgot your wallet at home. So, I finally get my coffee, and I’m feeling a bit better. But then, boom! The power goes out. Just like that. I’m standing there in the dark, and all I can think is, “Great, just great.” The lights flicker back on, and I see a line of angry customers. Ugh, the drama! Then there’s this lady, right? She’s got a cart full of groceries, and she’s just staring at me like I’m supposed to fix the world’s problems. I’m like, “Lady, I’m just a cashier, not a magician!” She starts yelling about how she needs her bread and milk. I mean, who doesn’t? But come on, it’s not the end of the world! After that, I finally get to ring up this sweet old lady. She’s from ul. Słowackiego, and she’s got the cutest little dog with her. I swear, that dog was more well-behaved than half the customers. She tells me about her garden and how she grows the best tomatoes. I’m like, “Lady, you should sell those at the market!” But then, outta nowhere, this guy storms in. He’s all decked out in a football jersey, and he’s yelling about the match last night. Apparently, Chrzanów’s team lost, and he’s taking it personally. I mean, dude, it’s just a game! But he’s ranting and raving, and I’m just trying to scan his beer. Finally, I get a break. I step outside for some fresh air. The sun’s shining on ul. 3 Maja, and it’s actually nice. I see some kids playing football, and it reminds me of my childhood. I used to play on those streets, running around like a maniac. But then, I hear this loud crash. I turn around, and some guy just knocked over a bike. Like, really? It’s a bike, not a car! He’s apologizing like crazy, and I’m just standing there, shaking my head. Chrzanów, man. It’s never a dull moment. Back inside, the line is still long. I’m ringing up this one guy, and he’s trying to pay with coins. Like, who carries that many coins? I’m counting them, and it feels like I’m in a math class. I’m sweating bullets, and he’s just smiling like it’s all good. By the end of my shift, I’m exhausted. I can’t even think straight. I walk home through the park by ul. Parkowa, and it’s peaceful. I see the old fountain, and it reminds me of summer days. So, yeah, that was my day. Full of ups and downs, just like Chrzanów itself. I love this place, but man, it can be a lot sometimes. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
