Man, what a day! I swear, being a sign language interpreter in Czechowice-Dziedzice is like riding a rollercoaster. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I grab my coffee from that little café on ul. 1 Maja. You know the one? The barista there is a legend. He knows my order by heart. I’m like, “Yo, just gimme the usual.” He winks and hands me a double shot. Bless him. I down it like it’s water. I need that energy, trust me. So, I head to my first gig at the local community center. It’s a workshop for deaf kids. Super cute, right? But OMG, they were all over the place! I mean, one kid was literally climbing the walls. I’m trying to sign and keep up, but this little dude is like a squirrel on caffeine. I’m signing “stop” and he’s just giggling. I’m like, “Dude, chill!” But honestly, it was hilarious. Then, outta nowhere, the fire alarm goes off. Like, seriously? In the middle of my signing? Everyone’s panicking, and I’m just standing there, trying to sign “evacuate” while also making sure the kids don’t run into traffic on ul. Słowackiego. I mean, come on! I’m not a traffic cop! After that chaos, I’m feeling a bit frazzled. I decide to take a breather at the park by ul. Piastowska. It’s a nice spot, you know? Trees, benches, and a fountain that’s always kinda broken. I sit down, take a deep breath, and just chill for a sec. But then, I see this couple arguing. Like, full-on shouting. I’m thinking, “Dude, save it for home!” But then, the guy pulls out a ring and proposes! I’m like, “Wait, what?!” Talk about a plot twist! The girl’s crying, and I’m just there, trying not to eavesdrop but can’t help it. Next, I rush to my afternoon gig at the school on ul. Wyszyńskiego. It’s a meeting with parents. I’m signing like a madman, trying to keep up with all the emotions flying around. One mom starts crying, and I’m like, “Oh no, here we go.” But then she’s just super happy about her kid’s progress. Phew! I’m relieved. But then, I get a text. My buddy’s in town! He’s like, “Let’s hit up that new burger joint on ul. Bielska.” I’m like, “Dude, I’m swamped!” But then I think, “Why not?” I mean, I deserve a treat after this wild day, right? So, I finish up, and I’m racing to meet him. I get there, and the place is packed! I’m starving, and the smell of burgers is killing me. I order the biggest burger they have. It’s like a mountain of meat! I’m trying to sign to my buddy while holding this beast of a burger. It’s a mess, but I’m loving it. Finally, I head home, exhausted but happy. I think about all the craziness of the day. Czechowice-Dziedzice, you never fail to surprise me! From kids climbing walls to surprise proposals, it’s never boring. I crash on my couch, thinking, “What’s tomorrow gonna bring?” And honestly, I can’t wait!
