Man, what a day! Seriously, I can’t even. So, I wake up in Fordon, right? The sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I’m a Community Manager, which means I’m basically the glue holding this place together. Fordon’s got its quirks, ya know? Like, you can’t walk two steps without bumping into someone who’s got a story about the old days on ul. Gdańska. I mean, I love it, but sometimes it’s like, “Dude, I just wanna grab a coffee!” So, I hit up my fave spot, Café Fordon. Best coffee in town, no cap. I order my usual – a double espresso, extra shot, because I need that fuel. But guess what? They’re out of beans! Like, how do you run out of coffee beans? I’m standing there, all wide-eyed, like, “What do you mean, out of beans?” The barista just shrugs. Ugh, I was so mad! Anyway, I decide to take a stroll down ul. Słowiańska. It’s a nice street, full of life. Kids playing, old folks chatting, and I’m just trying to shake off the coffee drama. Then, BAM! I see this street performer. He’s juggling flaming torches! I’m like, “Dude, you’re gonna set the whole place on fire!” But he’s got skills, I’ll give him that. I toss him a few złotys. Gotta support local talent, right? Then, I get a call from the community center. They’re like, “Hey, we need you to organize a last-minute event.” I’m thinking, “Great, just what I needed.” So, I’m running around like a headless chicken, trying to book a venue. I hit up the Fordon Cultural Center, but they’re booked solid. Of course! It’s like the universe is conspiring against me. I finally settle on the park by ul. Lechitów. It’s a nice spot, but it’s also where the local cats hang out. And let me tell you, those cats are territorial. I’m setting up tables, and one of them just strolls up, looks me dead in the eye, and plops down on my tablecloth. I’m like, “Excuse me, Mr. Whiskers, this is not your throne!” But he just yawns. Cats, man. So, I’m trying to get everything ready, and then it starts to rain. Of course! Just my luck. I’m scrambling to cover the tables, and I slip in a puddle. I’m soaked, and I’m pretty sure I just pulled a muscle. But hey, at least the cats are dry. Finally, the event kicks off. People start showing up, and I’m feeling a bit better. We’ve got games, food, and even a local band playing. The vibe is good, and I’m thinking, “Maybe today won’t be a total disaster.” But then, the band’s lead singer trips over a cable and knocks over the sound system. It’s chaos! I’m laughing and crying at the same time. By the end of the day, I’m exhausted but happy. Fordon’s got this weird charm, ya know? Even with all the craziness, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I mean, where else can you have flaming jugglers, territorial cats, and a rain-soaked community event all in one day? As I head home, I pass by ul. Bydgoska. The lights are twinkling, and I can hear laughter from a nearby pub. I stop for a second, take a deep breath, and think, “Yeah, this is home.” So, that was my day in Fordon. Full of ups, downs, and a whole lot of unexpected. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
