Man, what a day! I swear, Gniew is wild. I mean, I thought I was just gonna do my audit thing, you know? But nah, the universe had other plans. So, I roll into town, right? First thing I see is the Gniew Castle. This place is like a medieval Instagram filter. Seriously, it’s all brick and towers, looking like it’s straight outta a fairy tale. I’m like, “Wow, I should’ve brought my camera.” But I’m here to work, not play tourist. I hit up ul. Główna first. It’s packed with shops and cafes. I’m thinking, “Coffee first, numbers later.” I grab a latte from this cute little spot called Cafe Gniew. The barista? Super chill. We chat about the weather, and I’m like, “Dude, it’s Poland. It’s always unpredictable.” He laughs, and I’m feeling good. But then, bam! My phone buzzes. It’s my boss. “Hey, we need those reports ASAP!” Ugh, can’t a guy enjoy his coffee? I down it like it’s a shot of espresso and head to the office. The office is on ul. Słowiańska. I walk in, and it’s like a scene from a horror movie. Papers everywhere! I’m talking chaos. I’m trying to focus, but my mind’s racing. I’m thinking about the castle, the coffee, and how I forgot to eat breakfast. I start crunching numbers, but my brain’s like, “Nah, let’s think about lunch instead.” I’m getting hangry, and that’s never good. I finally decide to take a break. I stroll down to the Vistula River. The view is stunning. I mean, who knew Gniew had such a killer riverside? I sit on a bench, and this old dude starts chatting me up. He’s telling me about the history of Gniew. Apparently, it was a big deal back in the day. I’m nodding, but inside I’m like, “Dude, I just wanna eat.” Finally, I head to this local spot called Bar U Zosi. The pierogi there? OMG, life-changing. I order a plate, and it’s like a hug in food form. I’m shoveling them in, and I can’t even care about the mess I’m making. But then, my phone buzzes again. It’s my boss. “Where’s the report?” I’m like, “Chill, I’m working on it!” But I’m also thinking, “Dude, I’m in Gniew! Can’t you see I’m busy living my best life?” I rush back to the office, and I’m trying to finish up. But then, the fire alarm goes off! Like, seriously? I’m thinking, “This is not how I wanted my day to go.” Everyone’s freaking out, and I’m just standing there, like, “Is this a drill or what?” Turns out, it was a false alarm. Phew! But now I’m even more stressed. I finally finish the report, and I’m ready to send it. But guess what? The internet goes down. I’m about to lose it. I’m pacing around, muttering to myself. “Why today? Why now?” After what feels like forever, the internet’s back. I send the report, and I’m like, “Finally!” But then, I realize it’s 5 PM. I’ve been in Gniew all day, and I haven’t even seen the castle up close. So, I sprint back to the castle. It’s golden hour, and the light is perfect. I snap a few pics, feeling like a total tourist. I’m standing there, and it hits me. This day was a rollercoaster. I was angry, stressed, and then happy again. As I walk back to my car, I can’t help but smile. Gniew, you crazy little town, you’ve got my heart. I’ll be back, for sure. Just maybe without the audit next time!
