Man, what a day! Seriously, I’m still reeling from it. So, I’m a shoemaker, right? Just your average guy in Gorzów-Wielkopolski, slinging shoes and fixing soles. But today? Today was a rollercoaster, lemme tell ya. I woke up, sun shining through my window on ul. Chrobrego. Thought, “Hey, today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. I grabbed my coffee from that little café on ul. Sikorskiego. You know the one? The barista always messes up my order. I asked for a cappuccino, got a black coffee. Ugh! I mean, c’mon! I’m not a monster. So, I’m walking down ul. Wyszyńskiego, minding my own biz, when I see this old lady struggling with her shopping bags. I’m like, “Yo, let me help ya!” I grab a couple of bags, and she starts telling me her life story. I mean, I love a good chat, but I didn’t sign up for a soap opera! She’s going on about her cat, Mr. Whiskers, and how he’s the love of her life. I’m thinking, “Lady, I’m just trying to get to work!” But hey, I smiled and nodded. Finally, I get to my shop on ul. Jagiełły. It’s a cozy little place, filled with the smell of leather and glue. I love it. But today? Chaos! A kid comes in, all wide-eyed, and says, “I need shoes for my dog!” I’m like, “What?!” Who makes dog shoes? But I’m a shoemaker, so I’m like, “Sure, why not?” I end up making these ridiculous little booties. The kid loves ‘em. I mean, who knew? Dog fashion is a thing now? Then, around noon, I get a call from my buddy, Marek. He’s at the park by the Warta River, and he’s like, “Dude, you gotta come see this!” So, I lock up the shop and head over. Turns out, there’s a street performer doing some wild juggling act. I’m talking flaming torches, knives, the whole shebang. I’m standing there, mouth agape, when one of the torches goes flying! Almost took out a guy’s hat. Hilarious! But then, outta nowhere, it starts pouring. Like, biblical rain. I’m soaked in seconds. Marek’s laughing, I’m cursing. “Gorzów, you’re killing me!” I shout. We duck into a nearby bar on ul. Słowiańska. Grab a drink, dry off, and just chill. After the rain, the sun comes back out, and the city looks all shiny and new. I’m feeling good again. We head back to my shop, and I find a note on my door. It’s from a customer, saying how much they love my work. Made my day! But then, I get back to work, and my sewing machine decides to throw a tantrum. It jams up, and I’m there, pulling my hair out. “C’mon, you piece of junk!” I’m yelling at it like it can hear me. Finally, I fix it, but not before I’ve lost an hour of work. By the end of the day, I’m exhausted but happy. I close up shop, take a stroll down ul. Księcia Przemysława, and just soak in the vibe. Gorzów is my home, and even with all the craziness, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. So yeah, that was my day. Full of ups and downs, laughter and frustration. Just another day in Gorzów-Wielkopolski, I guess!
