Man, what a day! Seriously, I’m still reeling from it. So, I’m an arborist, right? Just your average tree geek, but today? Today was anything but average.
I woke up in Koscierzyna, that little gem in Pomerania. You know, the place with the lakes and all those trees? Yeah, that one. I had my coffee, and I was ready to tackle the day. Little did I know, it was gonna be a rollercoaster.
First stop, ul. Gdańska. I was checking out this massive oak. I mean, it was HUGE. Like, if trees had a bodybuilding competition, this one would win. But then, outta nowhere, this guy rolls up on a bike. He’s like, “Hey, you can’t park here!” I’m like, “Dude, I’m not parking a car. I’m saving trees!” He just stared at me. Awkward.
Then, I got a call from my buddy, Tomek. He’s like, “Yo, you gotta see this!” So, I’m thinking, “What now?” Turns out, he found a squirrel with a weird haircut. I mean, who gives a squirrel a mohawk? Only in Koscierzyna, right? I laughed so hard, I almost dropped my chainsaw.
After that, I headed to ul. Słowiańska. There’s this park there, super chill. I was just vibing, listening to the birds, when I spotted a couple of kids climbing a tree. I’m all for kids being adventurous, but c’mon! Safety first, right? I yelled, “Get down before you turn into a pancake!” They just laughed. Kids these days, man.
But then, the mood shifted. I found this poor tree, totally sick. Like, it had some weird fungus. I was fuming. Why can’t people take care of their trees? It’s not rocket science! I mean, Koscierzyna is known for its greenery. We gotta keep it that way!
So, I got to work, treating the tree. I was in my zone, just me and the bark. Then, outta nowhere, this old lady comes up. She’s like, “You’re doing God’s work, young man.” I was like, “Thanks, but I’m just a dude with a chainsaw.” But it felt good, you know?
Later, I decided to grab a bite at this little spot on ul. Kościuszki. Best pierogi in town, no joke. I ordered a plate, and while I was waiting, I overheard this couple arguing. They were going on about the best way to plant a tree. I mean, really? You’re fighting over that? I wanted to jump in and say, “Just dig a hole and put it in!” But I kept my mouth shut.
After lunch, I headed to the lake. It was so peaceful. I sat there, just chillin’, when I saw a family of ducks. They were waddling around like they owned the place. I couldn’t help but smile. Nature, man. It’s the best therapy.
But then, my phone buzzed. It was an emergency call. A tree had fallen on a car on ul. 3 Maja. I rushed over, heart racing. When I got there, I saw the car. It was a mess. But thankfully, no one was hurt. Just a bunch of shocked faces. I got to work, cutting the tree away.
Finally, as the sun was setting, I wrapped up my day. I was exhausted but happy. Koscierzyna had thrown me a wild ride, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. This city, with its quirky streets and vibrant life, it’s home.
So yeah, that was my day. Full of surprises, laughter, and a bit of chaos. Just another day in the life of an arborist in Koscierzyna. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
