Man, what a day! I swear, being a forester in the city is a whole different beast. So, I roll into Kostrzyn, right? First off, this place is a mix of old-school charm and modern chaos. I mean, you got the old fortress, the Kostrzyn Fortress, chillin’ there like it owns the place. And then there’s the Oder River, just flowing by, like, “Hey, I’m here, too!” I hit up ul. Słowiańska first. Thought I’d grab a coffee. You know, just chill for a sec. But nah, the café was packed! Like, what’s up with that? I’m standing there, waiting, and this dude in front of me orders a drink that sounds like a spell from Harry Potter. I’m like, “Bro, just get a coffee!” Finally, I get my caffeine fix and head out. I’m walking down ul. 1 Maja, and I see this street performer. He’s playing the accordion, and honestly, it’s kinda catchy. I’m tapping my foot, feeling the vibe. But then, outta nowhere, this kid runs by and knocks over his hat! I’m like, “Dude, what’s your problem?” The performer just laughs it off, but I’m fuming. Like, come on, have some respect! So, I keep walking, trying to shake off the anger. I pass by the old town square, and it’s buzzing. People everywhere, chatting, laughing. I spot a food truck selling zapiekanka. You know I had to get one! It’s like a Polish pizza on a baguette. I take a bite, and it’s heavenly. I’m in food heaven, man. But then, I see this group of tourists. They’re lost, looking at a map like it’s a treasure map or something. I can’t help but chuckle. I mean, Kostrzyn isn’t that big! Just ask someone! So, I stroll over and give ‘em directions. They’re super grateful, and I’m like, “No prob, just don’t get lost again, alright?” After that, I decide to check out the riverbank. The view is stunning. The sun’s setting, casting this golden glow over everything. I’m feeling all philosophical, like, “Man, life is good.” But then, I hear this loud noise. Turns out, it’s a bunch of kids playing with fireworks. I’m like, “Seriously? It’s not even dark yet!” I’m about to lose it, but then I see one of the kids light a firework, and it goes off like a rocket! I can’t help but laugh. It’s like a scene from a movie. I’m standing there, watching, and I think, “This is what life’s about.” As the night rolls in, I head back towards ul. Wyszyńskiego. The lights are twinkling, and the atmosphere is just right. I bump into an old friend from high school. We start reminiscing about the good ol’ days. You know, the usual stuff—cringy moments, bad haircuts, and all that jazz. But then, outta nowhere, I get a call. It’s my boss. He’s like, “We need you back in the forest tomorrow.” I’m like, “Dude, I just had a crazy day in the city!” But he’s not having it. “Nature waits for no one,” he says. Ugh, I guess he’s right. So, I wrap up my day, feeling a mix of emotions. Happy, angry, surprised—Kostrzyn really knows how to throw a curveball. I hop on the bus, thinking about all the wild stuff that happened. I can’t wait to tell my buddies about it. Kostrzyn, you’ve been a trip! Can’t wait to come back. But next time, I’m bringing earplugs for the fireworks!
