Man, what a day! I swear, being a vet in Lomża is like riding a rollercoaster with no seatbelt. So, I roll into the clinic on ul. Zjazd, coffee in hand, ready to tackle whatever comes my way. Little did I know, today was gonna be a wild ride. First off, I get a call about a cat stuck in a tree. Classic, right? But this wasn’t just any cat. This was Mr. Whiskers, the neighborhood diva. I get there, and there he is, perched like a king on a branch on ul. Sienkiewicza, looking down at me like, “You think you can save me?” I’m like, “Dude, you climbed up there!” After some serious coaxing with treats, I finally get him down. He struts away like he just won the lottery. I’m standing there, covered in tree sap, thinking, “This is my life.” Then, I get back to the clinic, and boom! A dog comes in with a stick stuck in its mouth. I mean, come on! Who lets their dog play with sticks? It’s like giving a toddler a chainsaw. Anyway, it’s a golden retriever named Buddy. Super friendly, but he’s got this stick lodged in there like it’s a trophy. I’m trying to pry it out, and he’s wagging his tail like it’s all a game. I’m sweating bullets, thinking, “If this dog bites me, I’m gonna lose my vet license.” But, of course, I manage to get it out. Buddy’s all happy, and I’m just relieved. Next, I get a call from a frantic lady on ul. Polna. Her rabbit, Fluffy, is acting weird. I rush over, and this rabbit is just sitting there, looking like it’s plotting world domination. Turns out, Fluffy just needed a little more hay. I mean, who knew rabbits could be so dramatic? I’m like, “Lady, your rabbit is fine. Just feed it!” She looks at me like I just solved a Rubik’s cube. By now, I’m running on fumes. I grab a quick bite at my fave spot, a little place on ul. Rybna. The pierogi there are to die for! I’m shoving them in my mouth, thinking, “This is the best part of my day.” But then, my phone buzzes. Another emergency. A parrot with a broken wing. Seriously? Who brings a parrot to a vet? I mean, I love birds, but come on! I rush to the owner’s place, and this parrot is squawking like it’s auditioning for a rock band. I’m trying to calm it down, and it’s just not having it. I’m thinking, “Why do I do this?” But then, I fix its wing, and it gives me this look like, “You’re my hero.” I’m like, “Yeah, I’m basically a bird whisperer now.” Finally, I head home, exhausted. I walk through the old town, and it’s beautiful. The lights on the market square are twinkling, and I can hear laughter from the cafes. It’s moments like this that make it all worth it. I think about how Lomża is my home. The streets, the people, the pets. It’s chaotic, but it’s my chaos. As I crash on my couch, I can’t help but laugh. Today was nuts! But hey, that’s life as a vet in Lomża. Full of surprises, a bit of drama, and a whole lot of love. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
