Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a barista in Lubsko is like riding a rollercoaster. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I’m late. Classic me. I sprint down ul. Główna, dodging old ladies and their dogs. Seriously, why do they walk so slow? I’m like, “C’mon, I got coffee to brew!” Finally, I get to the café, and the line is out the door. Ugh. I’m behind the counter, and my coworker, Kasia, is already in a mood. She’s like, “Where were you?” I’m like, “Dude, I was saving the world, obviously.” But she’s not having it. Whatever. I start making lattes, and let me tell you, the milk frother is acting up. It’s like it has a mind of its own. I’m wrestling with it, and it sprays milk everywhere. I’m covered in foam. Great start, right? Then, this guy walks in. He’s got a huge beard and a beanie. Looks like he just came from a hipster convention. He orders a double shot of espresso with oat milk. I’m like, “Dude, we’re in Lubsko, not Berlin.” But I make it anyway. He takes a sip and goes, “This is the best coffee I’ve ever had!” I’m like, “Really? You must not drink much coffee then.” Around noon, things get wild. A group of tourists comes in. They’re lost, obviously. They’re asking about the best places to see in Lubsko. I’m like, “Well, there’s the old town square, and the castle ruins are cool.” But they’re more interested in my coffee. I’m like, “Guys, it’s just coffee!” But they’re snapping pics like I’m some kind of celebrity. Then, outta nowhere, a pigeon flies in. Yup, a pigeon. It lands on the counter, and I’m like, “What the heck?” Everyone’s laughing, and I’m trying to shoo it away. It’s like a scene from a comedy movie. Finally, it flies off, but not before leaving a little “gift” on the counter. Thanks, bird. By the time the afternoon rolls around, I’m exhausted. I take a quick break outside on ul. Słowiańska. The sun’s shining, and I’m just chillin’. I see the old church in the distance, and I think about how peaceful it is here. But then, I hear shouting. Some guy is arguing with his girlfriend right across the street. I’m like, “Dude, not in public!” But they’re going at it. I can’t help but eavesdrop. Turns out, he forgot their anniversary. Oof. Back in the café, the vibe is still buzzing. I’m making more drinks, and this lady comes in. She’s super sweet, but she’s also a bit scatterbrained. She orders a caramel macchiato but then forgets her wallet. I’m like, “No worries, I got you.” She’s so grateful, and it makes my day. As the sun sets, I’m cleaning up. I look out the window at ul. Wrocławska. The sky is all pink and orange, and I’m just thinking about how crazy today was. I had my ups and downs, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Lubsko is my home, and even on the wildest days, it’s where I belong. So, yeah, that was my day. Full of coffee, chaos, and a little bit of love. Can’t wait to do it all again tomorrow!
