Man, what a day! I’m tellin’ ya, being a lumberjack ain’t just about swingin’ axes and choppin’ wood. Nah, today was somethin’ else. So, I roll into Sokolka, right? Just a regular Tuesday, or so I thought. First off, I hit up ul. Piłsudskiego. It’s like the main drag, ya know? I’m cruisin’ down, thinkin’ about grabbin’ a coffee at that little café, Kawa i Czas. But then, bam! I see this dude tryin’ to parallel park his car. I mean, c’mon! It’s like watchin’ a cat try to swim. He’s goin’ back and forth, back and forth. I’m sittin’ there, laughin’ my ass off. Finally, he just gives up and parks on the sidewalk. Classic Sokolka move, right? So, I get my coffee, and it’s decent. Not the best, but hey, I’m not picky. I’m just tryin’ to enjoy my day. Then I head over to ul. 3 Maja. There’s this market goin’ on. Fresh veggies, fruits, all that good stuff. I’m eyein’ some apples, thinkin’ about makin’ a pie. But then, this old babcia starts yellin’ at me. “You don’t know how to pick apples!” she says. I’m like, lady, I chop trees for a livin’. I can pick an apple! But whatever, I just smile and nod. Then, outta nowhere, it starts rainin’. Like, heavy rain. I’m talkin’ buckets. I dash for cover under this awning, and guess who’s there? The same dude from earlier! He’s soaked, lookin’ like a drowned rat. I can’t help but laugh again. “You still tryin’ to park?” I joke. He just rolls his eyes. After the rain, the sun pops out. Sokolka’s lookin’ all shiny and fresh. I decide to stroll down ul. Kościuszki. There’s this park, Park Miejski, and it’s packed. Kids runnin’ around, people chillin’ on benches. I sit down, just takin’ it all in. Feels good, ya know? But then, I see this kid climbin’ a tree. I’m thinkin’, “Man, that’s a bad idea.” Next thing I know, he’s fallin’! I jump up, ready to catch him, but he lands on his feet like a cat. I’m like, “Dude, you’re a freakin’ ninja!” Everyone’s laughin’, and I’m just relieved he’s okay. Then, I get a call from my buddy, Janek. He’s like, “Yo, you gotta come to the pub later!” I’m like, “Sure, but I’m not drinkin’ too much. Gotta chop wood tomorrow.” He laughs and says, “C’mon, live a little!” So, I hit up ul. Sienkiewicza for some grub. Grab a zapiekanka, and man, it’s the best thing ever. I’m munchin’ away, and this stray dog comes up. He’s lookin’ at me like I’m his last hope. I can’t resist. I share my food. Yeah, I’m that guy. Finally, I head to the pub. It’s packed, and the vibe is lit. Everyone’s laughin’, tellin’ stories. I’m feelin’ good, but then I spill my drink all over myself. Classic move, right? Everyone’s laughin’ at me, and I just gotta roll with it. By the end of the night, I’m feelin’ all kinds of emotions. Happy, angry, surprised. Sokolka’s wild, man. It’s got its quirks, but I love it. I head home, thinkin’ about tomorrow. More trees to chop, more adventures to have. Can’t wait!
