Man, what a day! I swear, Staporkow really knows how to throw a curveball. So, I’m a typhlopedagogue, right? Yeah, fancy word for teaching visually impaired kids. But today? Today was a whole different level of chaos. I woke up late, of course. Alarm didn’t go off. Classic. Rushed outta my flat on ul. Główna, barely had time to grab coffee. Like, who needs breakfast when you’ve got caffeine, am I right? Anyway, I sprinted to the bus stop on ul. Słowiańska. Missed the bus by, like, two seconds. Ugh! So, I’m standing there, fuming. It’s drizzling, and I’m thinking, “Great, just great.” Finally, I decided to walk. I mean, it’s not that far, right? Just a quick jaunt to the school on ul. Szkolna. But, of course, I took a wrong turn. Ended up near the park by ul. Lechitów. Beautiful spot, but not where I needed to be. I was so mad. Like, why can’t I just get one thing right? But then, I saw this cute little dog. A golden retriever, just chillin’. I mean, who can stay mad at a dog? I stopped to pet him, and for a moment, everything was cool. But then, the owner showed up. This dude was like, “Hey, don’t touch my dog!” I was like, “Chill, man, I’m not stealing him!” Finally, I made it to school. Kids were already there, buzzing with energy. I love those little rascals. They make my job worth it. We had a workshop planned, and I was pumped. But then, surprise! The materials didn’t arrive. Like, seriously? Who forgets to send supplies? I had to improvise. Grabbed some random stuff from the art room. We ended up making these crazy tactile maps of Staporkow. The kids were all in, feeling the textures, laughing, and I was like, “This is it! This is why I do this!” But then, outta nowhere, the fire alarm went off. Panic mode activated! Kids were screaming, running around. I was trying to keep everyone calm. “It’s just a drill! Just a drill!” But you know how kids are. They don’t listen. We finally got outside, and I was just standing there, watching them. And then, I saw it. The view from the school yard. You could see the old church on ul. Kościelna, the way the sun hit the bricks. It was beautiful. Made me forget the chaos for a sec. After the drill, we went back inside, and I was exhausted. But then, one of the kids, little Ania, came up to me. She said, “You’re the best teacher ever!” I mean, come on! That made my day. I was all smiles after that. But then, the day took another turn. I got a call from my mom. She was in a panic. “Your grandma fell!” I was like, “What?!” Turns out, she’s fine, just a little bruised. But man, my heart dropped. So, I wrapped up the day, feeling all sorts of emotions. Happy, angry, worried. Staporkow, you crazy little town, you’ve got my heart racing. I walked home, taking the long way through ul. Parkowa, just to clear my head. By the time I got home, I was beat. But I couldn’t help but smile. This city, with all its quirks and surprises, keeps me on my toes. And honestly? I wouldn’t have it any other way.
