Man, what a day! I swear, being a lifeguard in Sulejówk can be a wild ride. So, I roll up to the beach at around 10 AM, sun’s blazing, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I’m setting up my station on ul. Wrzosowa, right by the water. The vibe is good, families everywhere, kids splashing around. I’m just trying to catch some rays, you know? But then, outta nowhere, this kid starts screaming. I look over, and he’s flailing like a fish outta water. Panic mode activated! I sprint over, and it turns out he just got stung by a jellyfish. Like, seriously? In Sulejówk? Who knew we had those here? I’m trying to be all cool and collected, but inside I’m like, “What the heck?!” I grab some vinegar from the first aid kit (who knew that stuff was useful?) and start pouring it on his sting. He’s crying, and I’m like, “Dude, it’s gonna be okay! You’ll be a jellyfish whisperer in no time!” Not my best joke, but whatever. After that chaos, I’m finally thinking I can chill. But nope! Next thing I know, a group of teenagers shows up, blasting music from some portable speaker. It’s like, “Bro, we’re at the beach, not a rave!” They’re dancing like they’re on TikTok or something. I’m just trying to keep an eye on the water, but their moves are distracting. Then, I spot this guy on a paddleboard, and he’s totally wobbling. I’m like, “Dude, you’re gonna eat it!” And guess what? He does! SPLASH! Water everywhere. I can’t help but laugh. He pops up, looking all confused, and I’m like, “Welcome to Sulejówk, buddy!” But then, the mood shifts. I see a little girl, maybe 6 or 7, struggling to swim. My heart drops. I dive in, and it’s like everything slows down. I reach her just in time. She’s scared, but I’m like, “I got you! You’re safe!” I bring her back to shore, and her mom is freaking out. I’m just relieved, you know? After that, I need a break. I grab a quick snack from the kiosk on ul. Piłsudskiego. They’ve got the best ice cream! I’m sitting there, trying to chill, when I overhear some locals talking about the new park they’re building near ul. Słowiańska. Apparently, it’s gonna have a playground and a skate park. Sounds awesome! But then, I see a couple of kids throwing a frisbee, and it lands right in my snack! Ugh! I’m like, “Seriously?!” They come over, all apologetic, and I’m just trying to keep my cool. I mean, it’s just ice cream, right? But still, come on! As the day winds down, I’m feeling a mix of emotions. Happy I saved that girl, annoyed by the jellyfish, and just plain tired. The sun’s setting over Sulejówk, and it’s beautiful. I take a moment to breathe it all in. I pack up my stuff, thinking about how crazy today was. I mean, who knew being a lifeguard could be this intense? But hey, that’s Sulejówk for ya. Always something happening. I can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
