Man, what a day! Seriously, I’m still reeling from it. So, I’m the Watchman in Swiecie, right? Yeah, that’s my gig. And lemme tell ya, today was a rollercoaster. First off, I woke up late. Like, super late. My alarm? Totally ignored it. I bolted outta bed, threw on my uniform, and dashed outta my flat on ul. 1 Maja. I mean, who needs breakfast when you’ve got the whole city to watch over? As I hit the streets, I could feel the vibe. Swiecie was buzzing. The sun was shining, and the Vistula River was glistening like it was showing off. I took a deep breath, and boom! The smell of fresh bread from the bakery on ul. Piłsudskiego hit me. Ugh, I was starving! But no time for that. Duty calls, right? So, I’m strolling down ul. Sienkiewicza, keeping an eye out for trouble. And then, outta nowhere, I see this kid, maybe 10 years old, trying to ride a bike that’s way too big for him. He’s wobbling all over the place, and I’m like, “Dude, you’re gonna eat pavement!” But he’s laughing, having the time of his life. I couldn’t help but smile. Kids, man. They find joy in the simplest things. Then, I hear this loud crash. My heart drops. I sprint towards the sound, and what do I find? A bunch of teenagers playing football in the street. They kicked the ball right into a parked car. Classic! The owner, some grumpy old dude, comes out yelling. I mean, c’mon, it’s just a dent! But nah, he’s losing it. I had to step in, ya know? “Chill, man! It’s just a game!” But he wasn’t having it. After that drama, I needed a breather. So, I headed to the park by ul. Wyszyńskiego. It’s my go-to spot. I plopped down on a bench, just watching the world go by. There’s this old lady feeding pigeons, and I swear, those birds are like little ninjas. They swoop in, grab the crumbs, and bounce. I chuckled. Life’s simple pleasures, right? But then, outta nowhere, I get a call on my radio. “Watchman, we got a situation at the market!” My heart raced. I sprinted back to ul. Kościuszki, where the market is. Turns out, some guy was trying to steal veggies. Like, really? Who steals carrots? I caught him red-handed. He looked at me like a deer in headlights. I mean, c’mon, dude! Just ask for help! After that, I was done. I needed a pick-me-up. So, I hit up my favorite café on ul. Gdańska. Got myself a coffee and a slice of szarlotka. Best decision ever! I sat there, sipping my drink, watching the sunset over the river. It was beautiful. But then, my phone buzzed. Another call. “Watchman, we need you at the school!” I groaned. What now? I rushed over to ul. Szkolna, and it turns out, some kids were having a food fight. Seriously? I walked in, and it was chaos. Kids laughing, food flying everywhere. I couldn’t help but laugh. I mean, who doesn’t love a good food fight? Finally, as the day wound down, I headed back home. I was exhausted but happy. Swiecie had thrown everything at me today. Anger, joy, surprise. It was a wild ride. I plopped down on my couch, kicked off my shoes, and thought, “Man, I love this city.” Tomorrow’s another day, and I’m ready for whatever Swiecie throws my way!
