Man, what a day! I swear, being a bailiff in Adjuntas is like riding a rollercoaster blindfolded. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds are chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Ha! Yeah, right. First off, I hit up Calle San Sebastián. You know, the one with all the little shops? I grab my coffee from that spot, Café El Buen Sabor. Best coffee in town, no cap. I’m sippin’ my café con leche, feeling all fancy, when I get a call. It’s my boss. “Yo, we got a situation!” Ugh, I hate when he starts like that. Turns out, there’s a dispute over some land near the Río Grande. Like, seriously? Who fights over land in Adjuntas? It’s not like we’re in the middle of a gold rush or something. But whatever, I gotta go. So, I hop in my truck and zoom down the winding roads. Man, those curves on PR-135? They’re like a bad relationship—full of ups and downs. I get to the site, and it’s chaos. People yelling, hands waving, and I’m just standing there like, “What the heck?” I try to calm everyone down, but nah, they’re not having it. One guy, José, is all up in my face. “You don’t know what you’re talking about!” Bro, I’m just here to do my job. Chill! Then, outta nowhere, this old lady, Doña Rosa, shows up. She’s like the neighborhood grandma, always baking and giving out pastelillos. She starts yelling at José, “You’re being a fool! Let the man do his job!” I’m just standing there, trying not to laugh. Doña Rosa is a legend. After a while, I finally get everyone to chill. We sit down, and I’m trying to mediate. I’m thinking, “This is Adjuntas, not a WWE match!” But hey, it’s all good. We reach a compromise, and I’m feeling like a hero. I even get a hug from Doña Rosa. Best part of my day, for real. But then, as I’m leaving, I trip over a rock. Classic me, right? I fall flat on my face, and everyone bursts out laughing. I’m like, “Great, now I’m the clown of Adjuntas.” But whatever, I laugh it off. Gotta have a sense of humor, right? So, I head back to the office, and I’m thinking about stopping by the Plaza de Recreo. You know, the one with the fountain? It’s always buzzing with life. But nah, I’m too tired. I just wanna crash. On my way home, I pass by the old church on Calle José de Diego. It’s beautiful, man. The way the sun hits the stained glass? Gives me chills. I think about how Adjuntas is full of history, and I’m just a small part of it. Kinda humbling, you know? Finally, I get home, and I’m beat. I plop down on the couch, and my dog, Rocky, jumps on me. He’s like, “Dude, where you been?” I scratch his ears, and I’m just grateful. Grateful for the chaos, the people, the land disputes, and even the falls. Tomorrow’s another day in Adjuntas. Who knows what’ll happen? But I’m ready for it. Bring it on!
