Man, what a day! I woke up in Anasco, PR, and thought, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I hit the streets of Calle San José. I’m talking about the kind of street where you can smell the empanadas from a mile away. I mean, who doesn’t love fried dough stuffed with goodness? But then, bam! My phone buzzes. My boss wants a report. Like, NOW. Ugh. So, I’m walking, trying to type on my phone. You know, multitasking like a pro. But then I trip over a pothole. Seriously, Anasco, fix your roads! I almost face-planted right in front of a bunch of kids playing ball. They laughed. I laughed. But inside, I was like, “Why me?” I finally get to the plaza, and it’s packed. I mean, it’s like everyone in Anasco decided to hang out there today. I see the fountain, and it’s beautiful, but I can’t enjoy it. I’m still thinking about that report. I sit on a bench, trying to focus. But then, this old man starts chatting me up about the weather. I’m like, “Dude, I’m busy!” But he’s got stories. Like, he’s lived here forever. He tells me about the time the river flooded. Crazy stuff! Then, outta nowhere, it starts to rain. I mean, come on! I just got my hair done! I dash for cover under a tree on Calle 65. I’m standing there, soaked, and I see this cute dog. He’s just chilling, not a care in the world. I’m like, “Man, I wish I could be that dog.” After the rain, the sun comes out, and everything smells fresh. I decide to grab a coffee at my fave spot, Café Anasco. Best coffee ever! I order a cortadito, and it’s like a hug in a cup. But then, the barista spills it all over the counter. I’m like, “Really?!” But she just laughs it off. I guess it’s one of those days. I finally sit down, and I’m trying to write. But my mind’s all over the place. I’m thinking about the beach, about how I wanna hit Playa de la Pared. The waves, the sun, the chill vibes. But nope, gotta work. Then, I get a text from my friend. “Let’s hit the beach!” I’m like, “Dude, I can’t. Work.” But then I think, “Why not?” So, I pack up my stuff and head to the beach. When I get there, it’s like paradise. The sand is warm, the water’s calling my name. I run in, and it’s like all my stress just washes away. I’m splashing around, feeling like a kid again. But then, I see a jellyfish. I freak out! I’m like, “Nope, not today!” I swim back to shore, heart racing. I’m laughing at myself. Like, who gets scared of jellyfish? As the sun sets, I sit on the sand, watching the sky turn orange and pink. It’s beautiful. I think about my day. The craziness, the laughter, the unexpected moments. Anasco, you’re wild, but I love you. I head home, tired but happy. I think about how tomorrow’s another day. More adventures, more stories. And maybe, just maybe, I’ll avoid the potholes. But no promises!
