Yo, lemme tell ya about my day in Penuelas. Man, what a rollercoaster! So, I wake up, right? Sun’s blazin’ through my window. I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it was NOT chill. First off, I hit up Calle 25 de Julio for breakfast. Best place ever! I grab a pastelón and a café con leche. I’m sittin’ there, vibin’, when suddenly this pigeon swoops down and tries to steal my food! Like, bro, back off! I’m not sharing my pastelón with you! 😂 After that, I decide to stroll down to the Plaza de Recreo. It’s a nice spot, ya know? Families chillin’, kids runnin’ around. But then, outta nowhere, this kid trips and spills his ice cream all over my shoes. Ugh! I’m like, “Dude, really?!” But then he looks up at me with those big puppy eyes, and I can’t even be mad. I just laugh it off. Kids, man. They’re wild. So, I keep walkin’ and head over to the Parque de Penuelas. It’s beautiful there, with all the trees and stuff. I sit on a bench, just takin’ it all in. But then, I see this guy joggin’ by. He’s wearin’ a bright yellow tank top, and I swear, it’s so bright I almost need sunglasses. I’m thinkin’, “Dude, chill with the neon!” 😂 Then, I get a call from my buddy. He’s like, “Yo, let’s hit up the beach!” I’m like, “Sure, why not?” So, I hop in my car and drive down to Playa de Penuelas. The drive is nice, but the traffic on PR-2 is a nightmare! I’m sittin’ there, just fumin’. Why is everyone and their grandma on the road today? Finally, I get to the beach. It’s packed! I’m talkin’ people everywhere. I set up my towel, and just as I’m about to relax, this wave crashes over me. I’m soaked! I’m like, “Really, ocean? You wanna play like that?” But then I see everyone laughin’, and I can’t help but join in. I spend the afternoon chillin’, swimmin’, and just enjoying life. But then, outta nowhere, it starts rainin’. Like, what the heck? I thought we were in the dry season! I grab my stuff and run for cover. I duck into this little shack on the beach, and guess what? They’re sellin’ the best piña coladas ever! 🍹 I’m sittin’ there, sippin’ my drink, watchin’ the rain pour down. It’s kinda peaceful, ya know? I start talkin’ to this local guy, and he tells me all about the history of Penuelas. Did you know it was founded in 1820? Crazy, right? He also tells me about the old sugar cane plantations. I’m like, “Man, I gotta learn more about this place!” After the rain stops, I head back to my car. I’m feelin’ good, but then I realize I left my phone on the beach! Panic mode activated! I race back, heart racin’, and thank the universe, it’s still there! I grab it and do a little victory dance. By the time I get home, I’m exhausted. But I can’t stop thinkin’ about all the wild stuff that happened today. Penuelas, you crazy! You’ve got my heart racin’ and my stomach hurtin’ from laughin’. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
