Man, what a day! I swear, being a bodyguard in Alcácer do Sal is like being in a movie, but not the cool action ones. More like a weird indie flick where everything goes wrong. So, I wake up, right? Sun’s shining, birds chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be chill.” Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. First off, I’m supposed to meet my client at the Praça de Camões. Nice spot, right? But I get there, and it’s packed. Like, what’s with all the tourists? I mean, I get it, Alcácer do Sal is beautiful with its medieval vibe and all, but c’mon! I’m trying to do my job here. So, I’m scanning the crowd, looking for my guy. He’s late, of course. Typical. I’m standing there, trying to look all tough, but inside I’m just annoyed. I mean, I could be chilling at the Rio Sado, enjoying the view, but nooo, I’m stuck here. Finally, he shows up. Let’s call him “Mr. VIP.” He’s all smiles, acting like he’s the king of the world. We start walking down Rua da Liberdade, and I’m keeping my eyes peeled. You never know who’s lurking around. Then, outta nowhere, this dude bumps into me. I’m like, “Yo, watch it!” But he just gives me this look, like he’s about to start something. I’m ready to throw down, but Mr. VIP just laughs it off. “Chill, man, it’s all good.” All good? Nah, bro, it’s not all good. We keep walking, and I’m trying to keep my cool. We hit up the Alcáçovas, and I’m thinking, “This place is dope.” The history, the vibe, it’s all there. But then, I see a group of sketchy-looking guys hanging out by the old castle. My instincts kick in. I’m like, “Mr. VIP, let’s bounce.” But he’s all, “Nah, let’s check it out.” Seriously? You wanna check out the sketchy dudes? I’m about to lose it. But I can’t show it. Gotta keep it professional, right? So, we stroll over, and I’m just waiting for something to pop off. And guess what? It does! One of those guys starts yelling, and before I know it, there’s a full-on shouting match. I’m ready to step in, but Mr. VIP is just standing there, grinning like an idiot. I’m thinking, “Dude, this isn’t a party!” But he’s all about the drama. I’m sweating bullets, and then, outta nowhere, the cops show up. Thank the heavens! They break it up, and I’m like, “Finally!” But then, the cops start asking questions. And guess who they wanna talk to? Yep, Mr. VIP. I’m standing there, feeling like a total bodyguard failure. I mean, I’m supposed to protect him, not watch him get grilled by the police. After what feels like forever, they let us go. We head back to the Praça de Camões, and I’m just done. I’m like, “Dude, you can’t just mess around like that!” But he’s still in a good mood. “What’s the worst that could happen?” he says. I’m thinking, “Uh, how about getting your face smashed in?” Finally, we grab some food at a local spot. I’m starving, and the food in Alcácer do Sal is legit. I mean, the seafood? To die for! But I’m still fuming. I can’t enjoy my meal. As the sun sets over the Rio Sado, I’m just reflecting on the day. It was wild, emotional, and honestly, kinda ridiculous. I’m thinking, “This is my life?” But then I see the beauty of the city, the lights reflecting on the water, and I can’t help but smile. Yeah, it was a crazy day, but it’s moments like these that make it all worth it. Even if I’m just a bodyguard in a small town, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Just gotta keep my head on straight and hope tomorrow’s a bit less chaotic.
