Man, what a day! Seriously, I’m still reeling from it. So, I’m a librarian, right? And today in Alfragide was like a rollercoaster. Buckle up, ‘cause this is gonna be a wild ride. First off, I woke up late. Classic me. Alarm didn’t go off. I’m sprinting down Rua da Liberdade, hair a mess, coffee in one hand, and my bag in the other. I swear, I almost tripped over a cat. Like, chill, dude! It’s not your time to shine yet! Finally, I get to the library, and it’s packed. I mean, who knew Alfragide had so many bookworms? I’m talking about the Biblioteca Municipal de Alfragide. It’s a cozy spot, but today? It was like a sardine can. Kids everywhere, running around, yelling. I’m like, “Guys, it’s a library, not a playground!” But hey, I get it. Kids love books, right? So, I’m trying to help this kid find a book about dinosaurs. He’s super into it, and I’m all excited too. But then, outta nowhere, this old dude starts yelling about how he can’t find his favorite romance novel. Like, chill, bro! You’re in Alfragide, not a soap opera! I’m trying to calm him down, but he’s on a roll. “I need my love story!” he shouts. I’m like, “Dude, it’s just a book!” Then, I get a call from my buddy Miguel. He’s like, “Yo, you won’t believe what just happened!” I’m thinking, “What now?” Turns out, he saw a guy dressed as a giant book walking down Avenida dos Bons Amigos. I mean, what even is that? I’m laughing so hard, I almost drop the phone. Only in Alfragide, right? After that, I finally get a break. I step outside for some fresh air. The sun’s shining, and I’m feeling good. But then, I see this street performer on Rua da Prata. He’s juggling flaming torches! I’m like, “Dude, you’re gonna set yourself on fire!” But he’s nailing it. The crowd’s loving it. I’m just standing there, mouth agape, thinking, “This is Alfragide, man. Anything can happen.” Back in the library, things are still chaotic. A group of teens comes in, blasting music from their phones. I’m like, “Seriously? This is a library!” But they’re just vibing, and I can’t help but smile. I mean, who doesn’t love a good beat? Then, the fire alarm goes off. Great. Just what I needed. Everyone’s freaking out, running around. I’m trying to keep my cool, but inside, I’m like, “This is it. This is how I go down.” We all shuffle outside, and I’m standing there, watching the fire trucks roll in. Turns out, it was just a drill. Phew! But man, my heart was racing. Finally, the day winds down. I’m exhausted but happy. I love my job, even on crazy days like this. Alfragide is wild, but it’s home. I stroll down Rua da Liberdade again, feeling grateful. I grab a pastel de nata from a little café. Best decision ever. As I head home, I can’t help but think about all the weird, wonderful things that happened today. Alfragide, you never cease to amaze me. Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
