OMG, what a day! Like, seriously, I can’t even. So, I wake up in Alges, right? Sun’s shining, birds chirping, and I’m like, “Today’s gonna be lit!” Spoiler alert: it was NOT. First off, I’m running late. Classic me. I grab my coffee from that cute little café on Rua da Prata. You know the one? The barista there is a total legend. He always knows my order. But today? He messes it up. I mean, how do you mess up a simple cappuccino? I’m like, “Dude, I said no sugar!” Ugh. So, I’m chugging this sugar bomb and rushing to my first appointment. It’s at this fancy boutique on Avenida de Roma. I’m styling this bride-to-be, and let me tell you, she’s a handful. She walks in, all stressed, and I’m like, “Chill, girl! You’re gonna look fab!” But she’s all, “What if I don’t?” I mean, c’mon! We’re going through dresses, and she picks this one that’s, like, way too big. I’m like, “Girl, you’re not swimming in this!” But she insists. So, I’m pinning and tacking, and she’s still freaking out. I’m sweating bullets. I’m thinking, “If I don’t nail this, I’m gonna be the worst stylist ever.” Then, outta nowhere, her mom shows up. And wow, talk about drama! She’s like, “That dress is hideous!” I’m just standing there, trying not to laugh. I mean, it’s not hideous, but it’s definitely not the one. So, I’m trying to mediate this family feud while also keeping my sanity. Finally, we settle on a dress. Thank the fashion gods! I’m feeling all proud, like I just won a styling award or something. But then, I step outside, and it’s pouring rain. Like, seriously? I just styled a bride, and now I’m drenched. I’m walking down Rua de Lisboa, dodging puddles, and I’m just over it. I stop at that little gelato place. You know, the one with the crazy flavors? I get a scoop of pistachio, and it’s like heaven in a cone. But then, I drop it. Yup, right on the sidewalk. I’m standing there, staring at my fallen gelato like it’s a crime scene. After that, I head to a meeting with a new client. She’s this influencer, and I’m thinking, “Great, more pressure.” We meet at this trendy spot on Rua da Liberdade. She’s late, of course. I’m sitting there, scrolling through Insta, and I see her posting pics of her brunch. I’m like, “Really? You’re late for our meeting, but you have time for avocado toast?” When she finally shows up, she’s all about the latest trends. I’m trying to keep up, but honestly, I’m just exhausted. I mean, who knew being a stylist would be this intense? I’m thinking, “I need a vacation.” By the time I wrap up with her, I’m ready to crash. I stroll back through Alges, and it’s beautiful. The sunset over the Tagus River is stunning. I stop at the viewpoint near the train station, and for a second, I forget about the chaos of the day. But then, I remember I still have to get home. I hop on the train, and of course, it’s packed. I’m squished between two people who smell like they just ran a marathon. I’m like, “Can I get a little personal space, please?” Finally, I get home, and I just collapse on my couch. I’m thinking about the day, and honestly, it was a rollercoaster. I laughed, I cried (okay, maybe not cried, but you get it), and I survived. Alges, you’re a wild ride, but I wouldn’t trade you for anything. Just maybe a little less rain next time?
