Man, what a day! Seriously, Alhos-Vedros, you’ve got me all kinds of messed up. So, I woke up late, as usual. Alarm? Nah, who needs that? I rolled outta bed, threw on some clothes, and bolted out the door. First stop? The café on Rua da Liberdade. Best coffee in town, no cap. I needed that caffeine fix, like, yesterday. Grabbed my usual, a galão, and the barista, Ana, was like, “You’re late again!” I just laughed it off. I mean, who isn’t late in this town? Alhos-Vedros is chill, but come on, we all know the streets can be a maze. I swear, I got lost on Rua da Paz for like 20 minutes. How do you even get lost in a small town? Anyway, after my caffeine boost, I decided to hit the market. The Feira de Alhos-Vedros was buzzing! Fresh fruits, veggies, and all that good stuff. I was eyeing some strawberries when this old dude bumped into me. Like, dude, watch where you’re going! I almost dropped my phone. But then he smiled and offered me a strawberry. I mean, how can you be mad at that? So, I took it. Sweetest strawberry ever. Then, outta nowhere, it started pouring. I’m talking torrential downpour. I sprinted to the nearest shop on Avenida da Liberdade. I was soaked, like, drenched. I looked like a drowned rat. The shopkeeper just chuckled. “Welcome to Alhos-Vedros weather!” he said. I couldn’t help but laugh too. After the rain, the sun came out, and everything was all sparkly. I decided to stroll down to the river. The view from the Ponte da Fraternidade is always a vibe. I sat there, just chillin’, watching the water flow. It’s peaceful, you know? But then, I saw this kid trying to fish. He was all serious, like he was about to catch a whale or something. I couldn’t help but shout, “You got this, buddy!” He turned around, grinned, and waved. Kids are the best. But then, my phone buzzed. My friend, Miguel, was like, “Let’s hit the bar later!” I was down, but I had to run some errands first. So, I dashed over to the post office on Rua da Escola. I had to send a package. The line was insane! I mean, come on, it’s a post office, not a concert! I was getting all kinds of impatient. Finally, I got my turn. The lady behind the counter was super nice, though. She even complimented my shirt. I was like, “Thanks! Got it at that thrift shop on Rua do Comércio.” She laughed, and for a moment, I forgot about the long wait. After that, I rushed home to change. I was still a bit damp, but whatever. I met Miguel at the bar on Rua da Alegria. The vibe was lit! We ordered some drinks, and I told him about my day. He was cracking up at the strawberry incident. “Only you, man!” he said. As the night went on, we ended up dancing like fools. I mean, who cares? Alhos-Vedros is all about having fun. We even tried to do the Macarena. Spoiler alert: we failed miserably. But it was hilarious. By the end of the night, I was exhausted but happy. I walked home, thinking about how crazy and unexpected the day was. Alhos-Vedros, you’ve got my heart. Even with the rain, the weirdos, and the random strawberries, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. What a wild ride!
