Man, what a day! Seriously, Aljezur is wild. I woke up thinking it’d be chill, just another day in this cute little town. But nah, life had other plans. So, I’m strolling down Rua da Liberdade, right? Just vibing, coffee in hand, feeling like a boss. Then BAM! I trip over a cobblestone. Classic me. I spill my coffee everywhere. Like, c’mon! Who put that rock there? I swear it was plotting against me. Anyway, I finally get my coffee fix again at this tiny café on Rua 1º de Maio. The barista, this super chill dude, tells me about the best surf spots. I’m like, “Dude, I can barely swim!” But he’s all hyped about Arrifana beach. I mean, I get it, the waves are sick, but I’m not trying to drown today, ya know? After that, I head to the market at Praça da República. It’s buzzing! Fresh fruits, veggies, and all these locals chatting. I’m just trying to grab some oranges, but this old lady starts telling me her life story. I’m like, “Lady, I just want some fruit!” But she’s got that fire in her eyes. I can’t help but listen. Turns out, she’s been living in Aljezur for like 80 years. Respect! Then, outta nowhere, it starts pouring. I mean, like, torrential downpour. I’m soaked in seconds. I duck into this little shop on Rua da Igreja. It’s packed with all these handmade crafts. I’m browsing, trying to dry off, and I see this awesome ceramic piece. It’s a little fish, and I’m like, “I need this!” But the price? Oof. My wallet cried a little. So, I’m leaving the shop, fish in hand, and guess what? The rain stops. Perfect timing, right? I’m feeling good again. I decide to walk up to the castle ruins. The view from up there is insane! You can see the whole town, the hills, the ocean in the distance. I’m snapping pics like a tourist. But then, I hear this loud noise. I turn around, and there’s a goat. Just chilling. And it’s staring at me like it owns the place. I’m like, “Dude, this is my moment!” But the goat doesn’t care. It just munches on some grass. I laugh so hard. Only in Aljezur, man. As I’m heading back down, I bump into some friends. They’re all hyped about a beach bonfire later. I’m in! But first, I gotta grab some snacks. So, I hit up this little grocery store on Rua da Escola. I’m loading up on chips and drinks, feeling like a party planner. Finally, we hit the beach. The sunset is unreal. Orange and pink everywhere. We light the fire, and it’s just perfect. We’re laughing, sharing stories, and I’m thinking, “This is what life’s about.” But then, outta nowhere, a seagull swoops down and snatches my chips! I’m like, “No way!” Everyone’s cracking up. I’m chasing this bird like a madman. It’s flying off with my snacks! By the end of the night, I’m exhausted but happy. Aljezur, you crazy little town, you’ve got my heart. I can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings. Just hope it doesn’t involve any more goats or flying seagulls!
