Man, what a day! Seriously, I’m still reeling from it. So, I’m a furrier, right? Yeah, I know, not the most common gig. But lemme tell ya, Almodovar is my playground. This little town in the Alentejo region? It’s got charm, but today? Ugh, it was a rollercoaster. I started my day on Rua da Liberdade. You know, the street that’s always buzzing? I was just chillin’, sipping my bica, when I got a call. A client wanted a custom fur coat. Like, right now. I mean, who orders a fur coat in the middle of summer? But hey, I’m not one to turn down a job. So, I rushed over to my workshop on Rua da Igreja. Now, let me tell ya, my workshop is a mess. Fur everywhere! It’s like a furry tornado hit. I’m talking pelts, needles, and threads all over the place. I’m diggin’ through the chaos when I find this gorgeous rabbit fur. Soft as a cloud, I swear. I’m like, “This is it!” But then, bam! My phone buzzes again. It’s my buddy Miguel. He’s like, “Dude, you gotta come to the market!” I’m thinkin’, “The market? Now?” But Miguel’s got this way of making everything sound urgent. So, I grab the fur and head out. I’m walking down Avenida da Liberdade, dodging tourists and their cameras. Seriously, do they not see me? I’m on a mission here! When I finally get to the market, it’s packed. I spot Miguel by the fruit stalls, looking all smug. He’s got this huge basket of figs. “You gotta try these!” he says. I’m like, “Dude, I’m on a fur mission!” But he insists, and I can’t resist. Figs are life, right? So, I munch on a few, and they’re sweet as hell. But then, outta nowhere, I see this lady. She’s wearing this ridiculous fur coat. In the heat! I mean, c’mon! I’m all for fashion, but that’s just crazy. I can’t help but laugh. I point her out to Miguel, and we both crack up. “What’s she thinking?” I say. He shrugs, “Maybe she’s cold inside?” After the market, I head back to my workshop. I’m pumped to start on that coat. But guess what? I can’t find the rabbit fur! I’m tearing the place apart. I’m like, “No way! I just had it!” I’m sweating bullets, thinking I’m gonna have to call the client and say, “Sorry, I lost your fur.” Finally, I find it under a pile of scraps. Phew! I start working, and it’s going great. I’m in the zone, sewing away, when suddenly, the power goes out. Just my luck, right? I’m sitting there in the dark, surrounded by fur. It’s like a horror movie. I’m thinking, “Great, now I’m gonna be the furrier who got eaten by his own materials.” But then, I hear a knock. It’s my neighbor, Ana. She’s got a flashlight and a bottle of wine. “Power’s out, wanna drink?” she asks. I’m like, “Hell yeah!” So, we sit there, sipping wine in the dark, talking about life in Almodovar. It’s funny how things turn around. One minute I’m stressed, the next I’m laughing with a friend. Eventually, the power comes back. I finish the coat just in time. The client loves it! She’s all smiles, and I’m feeling like a rockstar. But then, she asks for a discount. I’m like, “Seriously? After all that?” But I give in. Gotta keep the customers happy, right? So, I wrap up my day, walking home down Rua da Liberdade again. The sun’s setting, and the sky’s all pink and orange. I’m exhausted but happy. Almodovar, you crazy little town, you’ve done it again. What a day!
